Error in wxRE 1.9b or in FSUIPC wxRE's Key?

Since updating to FSUIPC v3.01, I do get the popup about a non-accredited program trying to access FSUIPC. Below is that portion of the log.********* FSUIPC, Version 3.01 by Pete Dowson *********User Name=""User Addr=""FSUIPC Key=""FSUIPC not user registeredWideFS Key=""WIDEFS not user registered, or expired 4594 Client Application: "wxRE" (Id=3632) 4594 D:FS2004ActiveSky wxREwxRE.exe 4594 Product="ActiveSky wxRE" 4594 Company="HiFi Simulation Software" 4594 ... but not accredited for use with this unregistered FSUIPC 6047 System time = 17:08:38, FS2004 time = 17:08:36 (00:08Z) 18312 ### IPC Message processed in 13718mSecs ### 21906 Advanced Weather Interface Enabled 37531 Weather cleared automatically for FS98 changesLooking back from earlier this morning when only v3.0 was out I see the same was happening, which is why pete said was the partial reason for 3.01 and its pop up notice.********* FSUIPC, Version 3.00 by Pete Dowson *********User Name=""User Addr=""FSUIPC Key=""FSUIPC not user registeredWideFS Key=""WIDEFS not user registered, or expired 4140 System time = 05:55:32, FS2004 time = 05:55:30 (12:55Z) 4187 Advanced Weather Interface Enabled 7734 Client Application: "wxRE" (Id=1800) 7734 D:FS2004ActiveSky wxREwxRE.exe 7734 Product="ActiveSky wxRE" 7734 Company="HiFi Simulation Software" 7734 ... but not accredited for use with this unregistered FSUIPC 7844 Client Application: "wxRE" (Id=1800) 7844 D:FS2004ActiveSky wxREwxRE.exe 7844 Product="ActiveSky wxRE" 7844 Company="HiFi Simulation Software" 7844 ... but not accredited for use with this unregistered FSUIPC 7844 Client Application: "wxRE" (Id=1800) 7844 D:FS2004ActiveSky wxREwxRE.exe 7844 ... auto-registered for use through IPC interface 10375 Weather cleared automatically for FS98 changesInstall went via a Clean full FS2k4 install on new computer which doesnt have FS2k2 or wxRE previously installed. Next I installed v1.0 of wxRE, then updated to v1.8, then the 1.9beta. Then dl'ed FSUIPC v3.0(later v3.01) from Pete's webpage and dropped all contents of ZIP into the modules directory and ran FS2k4.On both flights so far 1 under each version of FSUIPC, both times starting at Midway airport all the airports in the area all report the same wrong ATIS info. Although the 122.00 weather watch info and weather out the front window match. Somewhere about 90+nm away from takeoff ATIS does start reporting correct info. Is this because FSUIPC isn't seeing wxRE's 'freeware' key? I'm assuming the key is embedded into wxRE itself?

But I also had the problem with 3.0. Does FSUIPC have to be inplace first before install the 1.9b? Because it wasnt, and I'm wondering if your installer checks for FSUIPC? I saw the spot in FSUIPC where you can register a program. But you that to know that programs reg. key.

The key is activating fine but not on initial FSUIPC connection (must be connected before reg key sent to FSUIPC), which is why the initial error popup and add-on disable which is new to 3.01. The log is correct - in that at initial connect wxRE IS NOT accredited but becomes so as soon as it sends its reg key to FSUIPC. I have contacted Pete about this and hope he can help resolve the problem with 3.01.As to why your initial weather is not correct, can you be more specific? It sounds like maybe you are not waiting for the weather to form, which takes some time (5 minutes by default) - you can reduce you cloud transition interval to make this happen quicker. Also make sure you are starting with your weather clear... Thanks, let me know if it is still problematic. For the time being you can just hit OK on the FSUIPC error as soon as you see it, and just to be safe, quit and restart wxRE to make sure it is initializing with FS correctly. Hopefully FSUIPC 3.02 will be available soon..-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table

I obtained a full privilege key for FSUIPC 3.01. Will ASWXRe 1.9b recognize that I am already registered or attempt to overwrite the existing key.

I simply wanted you to know that although I have registered both WideServer and FSUIPC, I have NOT updated to the BETA v.9 yet (because I don't have FS2004 yet); I have no problems whatsoever with 1.87. In getting WideServer6 up and running from the Client PC with I had some fun and I did go back to Schiratti's site for the newer release of FSUIPC. Pete is commenting on why your problem may be ocurring (see his forum for details) if you haven't already discussed the issue with him.Ron McLeod CYEG

It's a bug in the validation routine in FSUIPC 3.01.3.02 should be available today (monday) unless Pete finds critical problems in his final tests.

wxRE simply sends its key for access to FSUIPC from wxRE - nothing else is effected and it will simply be ignored anyways since you are already registered :)-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table
