wxRE v1.9 for FS2004 now officially released

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,Thanks to those who helped test v1.9. There were some problems found mainly with the FSUIPC key validation process which have been fixed. It is now released, and has been uploaded to the AVSIM libraries, filename is: wxre19update.zip.This requires FSUIPC v3.02 as there was a problem with the key process in earlier versions. Please download FSUIPC v3.02 from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html.v1.9 brings FS2004 compatibility to wxRE - You can now experience the beautiful new FS weather engine with accurate and realistic depiction via wxRE. Damian,Thanks for the update. A question. I have now ActiveSky in FS2002 that will be upgraded (hopefully tomorow) to FS2004. I want of course to have ActiveSky in FS2004 but I plan to delete FS2002. Which is the best method to follow? Also, im the Windows menu "Add and Delete Programs" I have the entries related to all ActiveSky upgrades (8? 10?). Can I uninstall all this and download the latest files? How I can I do it? Do I just use the same registration information?Thanks!Edmundo---------http://pwp.netcabo.pt/ega

Hi Edmundo,All you need to do is install FSUIPC v3.02 into FS2004 and update to wxRE v1.9. Read the included fs2004info.txt for recommended settings. You can clean up your programs list from the updates by uninstalling all (starting with the latest first) then reinstalling your base purchase version, then the latest 1.9. You'll now have just 2 entries.Hope that helps!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table

Guest Claudius

Hi there, i've been using FSMeteo for a while now.I read in this and other forums that the FS2004 build in real weather download doesnt work and the ActiveSky uses another TAF (?) weather report system ?What about it ?How much more reliable is ActiveSky ???Will there still be sudden cloud transitions from overcast to clear sky within 30 seconds ??Im about to purchase ActiveSky when i get FS2004 tomorrow :)greetings from Germanythank you for your reply

Hi,More reliable? As far as accuracy, much more... Don't know what is wrong with Jeppesen data but it is incomplete and regularly very old. Occasionally, just like any internet server, there are connection problems... we are seeing problems about 1 day out of 30, which is better than MS default as I understand it.The cloud transitions are set by default to take 30 seconds between each octa, or 4 minutes from clear to overcast.Hope that helps!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table

I have tried to download v1.9 three times now and each time I try to extract the files WinZip tells me it does not appear to be a valid archive. Can someone confirm that the file size is 4,947,391 bytes (shown as 4,832KB in list view)? If this file size is incoorect guess I'll post in the library help forum. Thanks

Vulcan,The file size is correct and downloaded and un-zipped fine. If you need the update, send me a personal e-mail and I'll send it back to you. Before you do however, make sure your e-mail system can handle an almost 5MB attachment!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Thanks Jim. I'll have another go at downloading and if I still have problems will do as you suggest, AFAIK I can handle 5MB attachments.I can't remember the last time I had a problem with down loading so this came as quite a surprise.Cheers
