FS2002 & COF2004: Is this Possible?

Recommended Posts

I just installed ActiveSky wxRE this morning and I'm trying to set it up to work with both FS2002 and COF2004.I just tested it at a variety of locations and ActiveSky seems to work perfectly with COF2004 but with FS2002, the METAR is downloaded; it scrolls across the screen but the weather in the sim is not updated...all I see is clear blue sky.I've tested this at KSEA, KEWL, KGRR, KRAC and KCGX and I get the same results everytime. This is my setup:ActiveSky wxRE version 1.90FSUIPC 2.975 running with FS2002FSUIPC 3.02 (the unlicensed version) running with COF2004I had ActiveSky wxRE version 1.87 installed previously and I did a complete uninstall then installed 1.9. I made no changes to FS2002 since I wanted to keep FSUIPC 2.975 so I'm stumped why I don't get weather in FS2002.

Hi...Hmmmm... That sure is a strange one.. What are your wxRE options? Are you using cloud transitions? What is your cloud transition interval set to? Have you waited 4 minutes for wx to form in 2k2? I could use a WRITE log from FSUIPC which will help troubleshoot this some more..-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table

Damian,I decided to reboot and it seems to be working correctly now. It is difficult to find weather today in the US to check but I managed to park at Pensacola NAS (KPNA)and sure enough I got rain and thunderstorms in both FS2002 and COF2004. METAR: NPA 291756Z 09005KT 6SM -TSRA SCT015CB BKN035 BKN100 25/24 A3001I guess I need to get a registered version of FSUIPC to tweak my setup since the overcast conditions seems rather heavier in COF2004 that it did in FS2002.EDIT: I just read the FS2004Info.txt file and made the changes to the visibility settings as recommended...its much better now.
