Announcement - HiFi Acquires Simulation Widgets, Weather Center 2, FS Browser

Recommended Posts

PRESS RELEASEFROM HIFI SIMULATION SOFTWARE8/20/03FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEDamian Clark has announced that HiFi Simulation Software has recently acquired Simulation Widgets' product line, and will assume all future support and development of the Weather Center 2 and FS Browser products. Weather Center 2 is an outstanding weather add-on that includes many realism-enhancing features, and has recently been fully FS2004 integrated (including station-based weather) with the release of version 2.3. FS Browser is a FREEWARE add-on, soon to be released, that permits web-browsing directly within FS! HiFi will be offering full customer support to all existing WC2 users and will provide updates as necessary to address any future issues. In addition, the code base for WC2/FS Browser will be integrated with ActiveSky (HiFi's existing weather engine) to provide the next-generation weather environment simulation engine for Flight Simulator 2004! Work has begun on integrating the best of both worlds in a single add-on! Keith Kile, Developer and Founder of Simulation Widgets, will be providing support to HiFi in order to assist with the transition and to advise on future development of his core technologies. For more information on Weather Center 2, FS Browser and ActiveSky, visit the HiFi Simulation Software website at http://www.hifisim.com.

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table

Congratulations! Now of course, we're all waiting even more (im)patiently for ActiveSky 2, hoping that the acquisition will already have an effect on that product, if not we'll just wait for AS TNG ;-)Best regards and keep up the good workMax (LSZB)

Hello,Nice stap Damian. I hope that AS WXre will work as WC2 in a later stadium!!!!????I mean with WC2 your FS framerate is not dropping when updating the metar, even if you set all options on 5 minutes refresh!AS is realy sucking framerate when updating the metar....still very anoying!cloudy9

Hi,Are you reporting a stutter when updating the weather? What are your system specs? What are your slider settings? Have you tried turning off wake turb option? Tried force LOW priority? Tried minimizing ASwxRE? Tried changing priority? All these things can help..-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table

And please keep messages in the appropriate threads. This is an announcement about WC2, not a support request thread.

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table
