Clouds change very rapidly, an AS setting missing or problem?

Recommended Posts

Guest Jim Strenk

I've been noticing that cloud formations seem to change very rapidly while using FS2004 and AS beta 5.Is there a setting within AS or FSUIPC beta 6 that will allow for smooth transitions of cloud formations while flying? I can seem to find any setting that would allow for smooth transitions. BTW, I do set FS2004 Dynamic Weather Changes to NONE.Thank you in advance for your tips and suggestions.

Hi Jim,Make sure in wxRE options "DISABLE CLOUD TRANSITIONS" is not checked. Set your Cloud transition interval to 5 seconds (to watch it work). Now in FS when you enter an area with a new closest station (new weather) the cloud layers will fade out and in, one octa at a time, to settle in at the new setting. Sometimes FS renders this great, other times it can appear quite sudden depending on your distance from clouds, cloud set, and other random factors. It's better than FS default (which goes instantly to the new cloud layer settings, not by octa) but does have its limitations.Hope that helps!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table
