Depart from EGLC always uses EGKB metair

Please explain, why ActiveSky uses the EGKG metair which is 11 miles away, rather than EGLC when one is at London City Airport, which is a far bigger aerodrome?Bob

Bob,Ireally don't know why. EGLC is in the database and the data is correct. I got the same results as you, weather from EGKB 11 miles away. And as always size does not matter!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Actually Biggin Hill is bigger and busier (LOTS of GA) than London City.Biggin Hill has two runways, both of which can accept a 737. It has an international air terminal and it has a few flying schools and maintenance firms based there. And I believe that Thames Radar handles approaches for both airports as well.
