Destination weather not updating till I've landed

Recommended Posts

Guest

I've just being trying out 1.91 (the only version I have tried) and did a few shortish flights.I noticed that the destination weather doesn't update until I've landed and shutdown!? The pressure remains the departure pressure until I've put my wheels on the floor, then it suddenly changes.I've tried different pressure settings with time in the FSUIPC and I've tried force to destination setting in ActiveSky but it's not working.Please helpJoe

Hi, below you'll find my FSUIPC and wxRE INI files. I've noticed now that it's just the QNH that isn't updating until I have landed. For instance today I flew EFHK-LOWW. The QNH at EFHK was 1015, at LOWW it was reporting 1012. I pressed "B" on descent into LOWW at about 5000ft and it gave me 1015 on the altimeter. I pressed it again when I shutdown and it gave me 1012.Good luck, I hope we can solve this :)=====================F S U I P C =====================[General]GenerateRain=NoGenerateCirrus=NoWindShearSharp=NoAutoTaxiWind=NoUpperWindGusts=NoStormsAutomatic=NoGraduatedVisibility=YesLowerVisAltitude=6000UpperVisAltitude=25000ExtendMetarMaxVis=YesPatchWeatherToADV=YesPlanLoadNoPosition=YesPatchSimApAlt=YesAutoClearWeather=YesApplyVisFix=NoWindTransitions=YesExtendTopWind=YesWindSmoothness=1CopyDewPtToDayNightVar=YesSmoothPressure=YesPressureSmoothness=3MaxSurfaceWind=0WindVarFactor=7WindLimitLevel=200WindDiscardLevel=400WindSetVariance=NoMagWindsToFST=NoWindAjustAltitude=NoWindAjustAltitudeBy=2000MinimumVisibility=0MaximumVisibility=2000MaximumVisibilityFewClouds=3000UpperVisibility=6000OneCloudLayer=NoThinClouds=NoStormProbability=0StormMinTemp=10StormParameters=1030530CloudThinness=1000CloudTurbulence=YesCloudIcing=YesCloudForJetTrails=NoWindTurbulence=NoSuppressAllGusts=NoExternalOptionControl=YesAutoTuneADF=NoMagicBattery=YesAxisCalibration=NoTCASid=FlightTCASrange=40SendWeatherAlways=NoSendWeatherInterval=60RainStopper=75RainStarter=75AdjustWeatherATIS=NoCloudTurbulenceToWinds=NoFixRainProblem=YesSuppressCloudTurbulence=NoSuppressWindTurbulence=NoFixWindows=NoMainMenu=&ModulesSubMenu=&FSUIPC ...SubterraneanWindFix=NoMaximumVisibilityOvercast=2000KeepFS98CloudCover=NoRudderSpikeRemoval=YesTrapUserInterrupt=YesNavFreq50KHz=YesFixControlAccel=YesHistory=8Z0WUFIXHRTPNKFF3IAUFCloudForVSky=NoMinVSkyAltitude=40000WhiteMessages=NoSmoothVisibility=YesVisibilitySmoothness=2MaximumVisibilityRainy=2000ThinThunderClouds=NoThunderCloudThinness=10000ElevatorSpikeRemoval=YesReversedElevatorTrim=NoAileronSpikeRemoval=YesShowPMcontrols=NoClockSync=YesSmoothIAS=YesTrafficScanPerFrame=10[JoystickCalibration]FlapsSetControl=0ElevatorSpikeRemoval=YesAileronSpikeRemoval=YesSmoothIAS=YesReverserControl=66292MaxThrottleForReverser=0AileronTrimControl=0RudderTrimControl=0[buttons]0=R0,1,K223,8[Programs]run1=C:FS ProgramsActive SkywxRE.exerun2=C:FS ProgramsS-ComboS-Combo.exerun3=C:FS ProgramsRoger Wilcoroger.exe====================W X R E ====================//wxRE configuration file - be careful with edits here[General]WXREOfflinePath = C:FS ProgramsActive SkyExportPath = C:FS ProgramsActive SkyOperationMode = OnlineDefaultOfflineFile = defcycle02Z.wxdDisableCloudTransitions = FalseDisableMessages = TrueLowBandwidthWinds = FalseExportMetars = FalseAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueMETARUpdateInterval = 5FDUpdateInterval = 45UpdateMETAROnNewStation = TrueUseShortTermTAF = FalseWindsAloftSimulation = TrueFS2004Writes = FalseIdlePriority = FalseVATSIMMetars = FalseDefaultForceRange = 40ZuluConversion = 1RainVisReduction = FalseOvercastHorizonVis = TrueDisableForceWindUpdates = FalseTAFProcessing = FalseWakeTurb = TrueDisableUpdatesWhenForced = FalseStartPaused = FalseCloudTransitionInterval = 15MinimumCloudThickness = 200UseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONEProxyPort = 80

Joe,First, your clouds data match perfectly. I hope you would agree. Your pressure changes are not instant because you have pressure smoothing turned on in FSUIPC and it is doing exactly what it is meant to do, gradually change the pressure over time. That is why you have the delay.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

I'm not sure where you derive your summary from Jim unless those measurements are in metres? If so my apologies.Still regarding the pressure change, I have it set to 3 seconds per milibar. So a change of 2MB should take 6 seconds? It's not...It's keeping the departure pressure for my entire flight and then suddenly setting the destination pressure when I shutdown.....that's.....1hrs 15 minutes :SIn anticipationJoe

Hi Joe,It is clearly stated that the altitudes in the status screen are reported in Metres...Perhaps there is a problem with baro smoothing. Try disabling this, please report your results..-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table
