How to STOP Spyware

I received this tip from a weekly news letter http://www.langa.com/ I highly recommend signing up for it. I have learned a lot from Fred, but the following has to the the best. Since I made these changes 2 weeks ago I have not received one hit from Ad-Aware! I used to get 4 to 5 a day.Just follow these simple instructions and the pics for examples;Click on tools while on the net, then Internet Options, then Security tab, click on the custom level button and set the Trusted Sites zone window to Medium security.Then, go to the Privacy tab, click on the advanced button and click on block cookies , put a check in the always allow session cookies box. In the Trusted Sites zone whenever a site I trust needs to store a cookie (like Avsim, Amazon, cable TV Listings, etc.) I add that site to the Trusted Sites zone. At the end of the day, I have on the drive those cookies which I need to keep, and all others are history. To make this even easier, I use a small application called Trust Setter, which puts two buttons in the IE toolbar, Add to Trusted Sites, and Add to Restricted Sites. I remember way back when we were just happy to have graphics on websites! And that's not too long ago. When I first started using the 'net all you could get was universities or porn. A classic combination!No spam, no adverts, no companies selling stuff. Ah, those were the days!

As for programs I am using:For popups... program called PopUpCop.Antivirus.... Norton AntiVirus 2003Firewall... my router, but I might put Zone Alarm on here to see how it worksSpyware... If your router does not include a firewall which detects _outbound_, then I strongly suggest you install a software firewall, like ZA for example, immediately. The manufacturer's specs for your router should declare whether the built-in firewall is two-way.
