I know it's long but:FS2004 Integration SummaryNew to FS2004 is a station-based weather architecture that varies highly from the original pre-FS2004 GLOBAL weather representation system. Now instead of a single global weather setting being displayed (which changed as you flew threw different areas), over 6000 new weather zone stations can be individually set and visually represented on the screen. Now you will see when there is different weather around the aircraft. For example, it may be clear and sunny at your departure location, but you can see a front and building cloud formations out in the distance. If you takeoff and fly towards those clouds, you will visually see them getting nearer and eventually you
