Creating one's own metar files?

Recommended Posts

Guest bfindlay

Is there a way to create our own sky conditions, then have AS2004 render them? In other words something like the 'advanced' bit in FS itself, where you specify everything, then the program builds it. I would like to basically have AS render the weather, but have ME decide what that weather is at our local airport.

Hi,Not easily, but I guess it could be done by editing the current weather snapshot file and using AS in Offline Mode. However, each reporting station has a very limited range of 2 miles and you would need to edit many stations in your flying area.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Ok, if I can't easily create Metar files, can I snag an interesting set of weather data for use and re-use later? IE, if I spot a particularly nasty day, how do I save all that data so that AS can render it later when in offline mode?I can't see where the actual files are stored on the HD.
