KPDX 28L

Recommended Posts

Being from Portland, I like to fly into KPDX often. I am curious if there is a solution to the odd ILS behavior on 28L. I have seen it mentioned before but could not find any articles. Thanks.Pat Callaghan

Pat,I saw the reply from Firestriker. I have not tried that file, but I assume it works fine. If not, I have another that I must have gotten from some other site, and it is a very comprehensive correction of navaids in the USA, and KPDX was one of them. It works great. I'm from West Palm Beach, and KPBI is not much fun to fly into (slideshow), so I fly to other places like KPDX, and the ILS at runway 28L was way out of line. At least that could be fixed. The file is Navaids1.zip by Todd Burleson in case you want to look for it on other sites. If you don't have any luck, I have the file in my archives and will send it to you if you supply me an e-mail address.Best of luck,Bob

Sure wish we could get a scenery designer to make over KPDX. Would be nice if the southwest concourse was positioned properly. Also would be cool to have a nice paved road in and out of the terminal as well as MAX trains moving about. Oh well, if wishes were horses...

I thought Sidney Schwartz was working on a KPDX... maybe not. I know he did some FSSE enhancements for it at any rate. I've thought of working over our airport myself, but I got caught up in the creative aspect of building bush scenery and haven't done it yet. Besides, I can just see spending the weekend in jail for roving around the airport taking pictures! lol. But seriously, it's a great looking airport, and with this round of construction finally quieting down, it might be a good time to think about focusing on it. Something to think about...BTW, I LOVE the idea of getting together with some FS fans in the Portland area. I used to have a few buddies who were into it, but they were more of the combat sim variety, and nobody else I know is really into civvie simming. I could talk about it for hours!

I'll second that - a nice KPDX would be excellent! However, I believe that the scenery designer should actually respect the majority of the voters who continue to vote down MAX expansion! Perhaps some really nice ROADS in the scenery would be nice! :(
