Recommended Posts

Hi Joe,Not sure about the technical stuff behind the cloud textures. It is dxt3 and requires Render to Texture to be turned on. Now, I have an ATI card and use 32bit clouds and have no shimmering if I set Cloud Draw Distance to 30 or 40. Chris may be along later on tonight to add to this!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

HI Joe,re download again HIFPSV2.ZIP (the links below), HIFPSv2.zip mips map was missing for 32 bits and DXT, but HIFPS.zip always had the mips map for both format.http://fsw.simflight.com/FSWdownload.htmlThe problems with DXT, you have to enable render to texture, on some system spec, the performance degrade, panel causing flickering, but not all system, 32 bits is the standard format.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpgFreeware Addons for FSW GROUP

HI, hifps.zip single files or from fs sky world include mips map, both include 32 bits and DXT, use the 32 bits version. "what is the real reason one would use dxt instead of 32 bit?"DXT format files are reduced in quality to require less amount of memory with system, like they use on the ground format and aircraft and others area, it reduce stutter and can increase performance on configuration slider situation vs your system spec.I recommend to use the new files I edit little bit. hifps.zip or hifpsv2.zip, test them.http://fsw.simflight.com/FSWdownload.htmlThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpgFreeware Addons for FSW GROUP
