ASV on multiple computers

Recommended Posts

Guest Butik

Hi!I have a home cockpit with multi computer configuration (see http://butik.ktm.net.pl/cockpit.htm).I want to use Active Sky on a different computer than Flight Simulator. I assume it should be installed semi-twice: cloud sets on FS machine and engine on remote machine. Is it possible?Bye - Michal

I can't see to get the connector program to work properly. Whenever I browse to the location of the asv.exe on the wide fs pc and double click on that file, I get a box telling me 'I should specify the location of the ASV.exe file' when I obviously already have. Any ideas?

Hi,Sorry you are having trouble with this..I will look into it and see what is going on, to provide a solution/fix...For now you can manually do this:Manually copy the ActiveRadar.dll file and ActiveRadar folder (from the ASV installModules folder) to your FS9Modules folder. You also need to add the reg key on the FS machine:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareHiFiASVInstall_PathSet this to your networked path for ASV (full program path) on the wideFS machine.. i.e. WIDEFSMACHINECASVMODULESASV.If you are having problems with this please e-mail me directly and I will assist. Thanks!

I understand about installing on the client PC only....from Jose'>>>Installing ASV on a networked computer over WideFS1. On the separate non-FS computer, unpack the installation .zip file to a temporary location, such as C:ASVTEMP (Do not install ASV on the FS2004 computer).2. Run the Setup.exe program to launch the installation process.<<<<

Hi Vince,You can run the upgrade installer package on the FS machine. This will unpack a FULL VERSION ASV installer for you. You can then move this to the wideFS machine and install ASV itself from there.Best,

Damien,Can you elaborate on this please?"""Manually copy the ActiveRadar.dll file and ActiveRadar folder (from the ASV installModules folder) to your FS9Modules folder. You also need to add the reg key on the FS machine:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareHiFiASVInstall_PathSet this to your networked path for ASV (full program path) on the wideFS machine.. i.e. WIDEFSMACHINECASVMODULESASV."""

I am having the same problem with the conector exe and have tried to do it manually. I can copy to the modules folder alright but I do not know enough about registries to be able to follow the rest of this. Could you kindly explain it more fully.Peter Lowry

Peter,D/L the SU1, kink on the top of the forum and apply it.After that run the connector again and if all permissions for the network are set correctly you shouldn;t have any problemsChris
