>>Hi All,>>>>First of all thanks to all those that have shown their>support>>here. It is much appreciated!! It has been a very long day>so>>far so I hope I don't come off the wrong way here:>>>>1. JOE,PLEASE click on this link and then PLEASE come back and tell EVERYONE what you saw. Did you still see AS2004.5 for sale?http://secure.simmarket.com/product_info.p...c42aba3e594be2&NOW go to this link and look on the right side under Bestsellers:http://secure.simmarket.com/default.php?rf...c42aba3e1442d3&What is number 3 on the list? OMG it's AS2004.5!! Why? Because it's the 3rd best seller of SimMarket software. Did you see it?Now, the only naked fact remains that AS2004.5 will be supported a long time from now. Heck I still get an e-mail or two from AS2000 users. AS2000 was freeware and can be found here at AVSIM. Do you know how long ago this was? YEARS ago and it is STILL BEING SUPPORTED.Yes, everyone I have finally lost my temper. I am sorry but I just couldn't keep it in anymore. I tried my best!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

It wasn't right before I originally posted.Perhaps you should set this staight with the site's web master!?!It said AS2004.5 was replaced by ASV when you clicked on the Purchase link!!Now, I'm getting a bit angry!!!I have been on the web in various sim sites and have never, ever been any kind of a trouble maker as you are making me out to be.I just report the facts as they we at the time of reporting.Any changes in the facts, after the fact, are not conviently my fault as you would have it to be!!BTW, I'm the same JoeD who supported ASV on the "Flight 1" fourm thread concerening FE and ASV compatability!"Hope THIS helps"!

>Bad example. The car dealer would allow you to trade in your>old car against the new one, bringing the price down>considerably.Arent you able to trade your old version in for value for the new one? Looks to me like you get 10 bucks off for having the old version and the kicker is, unlike the car dealer, you get to keep your fully functional old version as well as the new. And ASV is spectacular, well worth it.

Jim,I agree with you.But I must also admit that the 57 year old guy who bought his old version 7 days before the lauching of the new stuff is p... off.Could a sort of special price be charge for that sort of case ? When one buys a new car but which is an old model to be replaces very soon by a new model, he gets a special discount on his purchase.I will upgrade just after my holidays.Roger

I don't care about the price either.I (as are many others) am just a bit annoyed about the attitude that anyone who bought AS2004.5 recently should have known better and those people are somehow metally deficient for doing so. It's like saying "next time pay more attention SUCKERS"!Anyway the point is now moot (at least in my case) as I have already purchased ASV and installed it.

The price is extremely low compared to the enhancements made with this NEW program...

Hi Jim, sorry for that, but that is just not the truth. Perhaps it is total new coding (what I do not believe), perhaps there are additional features, perhaps you want to earn money, ...But from the user point of view: it is a weather-engine-enhancement of FS9. Not less, not more. So tell me why should I pay twice in one month for the same product. Btw, even today simmarket.com offers Active Sky 4.5. There is not a single info that there exists a better, newer or whatever version!!! And simmarket.com is linked by your website. So once again: It is not the question of paying good money for good software. It is the way it went. And by demanding once a gain 27$ you're loosing a lot of people. A lot of companies offer software with a pricing depending on how old the previous pruchased version is. So why doing like that?CheersThomas

To all,It has been known for some months that a new version was in the pipeline. Not knowing this is not Hifisim's fault. Customers should inform themselves before buying. As for the price, sure it could be lower and that would make me happy. But I know what great service has been deliverd over the years and therefore I find it not that expensive. In the end it is a personal choice. You find it to expensive? then don't buy it!!A satisfied Hifisim-customer.

ASV has been mentioned on the HiFisim website for quite some time. It is up to the customer to do their own research - just as it is with any other product. In reality Flightsim developers do a lot more for their customers than most developers.
