ASV ROCKS!Just bought, downloaded, and installed ASV. Everything went w/ out a hitch.I noticed that ASV had made a back up of the original texture folder, so I reinstalled Bart's resized autogen textures. (Maybe some who are complaining about frame rate loss overlooked this).Ran the program before starting FS9 to set the options as I wanted them. No problem understanding everything...it was a breeze.Hooked up everything to run under FSAutostart. After my firewall initialized ASV to run, all loaded w/ out a hitch.Everything loaded, ASV refreshed the AI traffic, and I was set for a flight. I held my breath as I went to outside view and panned around the aircraft to see if my frame rates had been effected...nope, everything the same as before. Marvelled at the above cloud formations...smooth and billowy...I was astounded. Taxied to the runway, took off and went to virtual cockpit. Held my breath as I panned around expecting a framerate hit...nope, everything running just fine. Looked around at the lower fog settling in the mountains...ASTOUNDING! You've made a great product better. Congrats guys. If I didn't have to work tomorrow I'd take a longer flight. I'm sure there's lots more to see. Worth every penny for the upgrade.Just a couple of questions.1. I noticed under the environment button, you can click on random and everything is chosen at random. Is this the same effect as having random checked off in the main ASV options window? Or if I want everything randomized completely should I go into the environment window and hit random everytime?2. If I have ICS and random checked, will this limit some of the cloud formations that are possible? I understand ICS means that ASV will pick the formation that matches the weather report. So will this limit the selection as far as the cloud formations are concerned? If I want to see all of the cloud formations eventually through random selection, should I tick off all random, or will ICS and random use all of the cloud textures? (think I just repeated myself).3. Can I uninstall AS2004.5 now?4. When I try to enable the mips, it prompts me that I don't have imagetool.exe. Whassup w/ that? Never seen anything like that before. The frames are fine, but if I can get even more, I'd like to give it a try.Again, you guys have really done something special here. I'm absolutely amazed. I promise when I take a longer flight I won't come back on here and blubber away...but it'll be hard to restrain myself. G'nite.

>1. I noticed under the environment button, you can click on>random and everything is chosen at random. Is this the same>effect as having random checked off in the main ASV options>window? I think it is the same. But if you have the "random" selected in the options you will get a new selection only when you restart ASV. You can experiment and see how it works.>So will this limit the selection as far as the cloud formations are concerned? It will limit the selection slightly. If weather calls for soft edge clouds it won't pick from hard edge clouds. But there are still hundreds of soft edge clouds to pick from.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg

Hi Flight,I hope you like now ASV in actual live flight perforance :)for mips see the mips and resolution post.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=17264&page=AVS option-ICS will use most of the clouds texture.-ICS Random SkyEnv mode: It is the same for the random compare to AE interface, but asv will only pick random at the start of asv, then start fs2004. It will pick random from sky and environment.category texture, -ICS Last SkyEnvironment mode: ICS + the last sky selection and enviroment selected from AE manually (or from the previous ICS Random SkyEnv mode)-All Random= All AE in random from ALL category-Manual= Not selection from AE interface.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpgFreeware Addons for FSW GROUP

Hi flight,Thanks for that feedback! The only question not answered was #3. You can uninstall AS2004.5 but some needed fils may be removed. The quick fix is to run the ASV install and choose Repair. It will repalce the needed files!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
