Since SU2 installation = loss of FPS

Recommended Posts

Hello,Since the installation I have lost from 5 to 10 FPs (depending on the clouds density). Please find my options.Recommendations? I do not use Flight Plans and I try to stay as close as possible to the "real" Wx condition.....taking in account the spec of my "old" system. Thanks in advance

Hi,Settings look good. You may want to try a decrease in resolution on the main screen 16 X 12 can be a real drain. Also try different cloud setting with DXT on and off.Lastly, make sure your cloud draw distance is 30 in FS04.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg

Hello Develop team,I also have a huge impact after using SU2, since I couldn't find what was causing it I reinstalled FS9 but not the activesky setup. When I started with AS, it was version 5 then received an update to AV6 still no issues but after the SU2 I got stutters, and an average fsp of 7, before my average was around 24. Does the SU2 update changed the clouds backt to 32bit, or does it preserve the clouds installed, I was using the lowest resolution and dxt compression.regards,Johan

Hi Jim,I did test with NON DXT :With NON DXT = 4.5 FPS average in cloudsWith DXT = 5 to 7.6 average in clouds, when I am above the clouds 22000' I stay at 8 fps .Previous to SU2 I had 15 to 24 FPS.Of course the route MMTM-MMMX is cloudy, but !I did e-mail to your support address 2 screen shots (they are too big to upload them in this topic).Hope it will help us to find the reason. Thanks in advance.

Hi,I got the shots and responded to the wrong problem so ignore my e-mail!You have Overcast clouds for as far as the eye can see.You are running 2 screens with a video card that cannot keep up.You are running at a resolution way too high.Suggestions:Lower your Cloud draw distance to 30.Run one screen JUST for now.Set your FS04 resolution to something higher.Limit maximun visibility to 50 in ASv6.Shut down FSNav JUST for now.Try all these and then lets see what happens!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg

Hi,FYI, it is hard to keep track of multiple users in the same thread. In the future, please start a new topic, even if it the same problem!Go in your ASG options and see if it is still set for 64 bit clouds and DXT textures.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg

Hello,"TesT Suggestions:Lower your Cloud draw distance to 30.Run one screen JUST for now.Set your FS04 resolution to something higher.Limit maximun visibility to 50 in ASv6.Shut down FSNav JUST for now"Same route as previous.1 screen with 1152x864x32, cloud draw = 30, FS9 resolution = Video card, no FSNav, maximun visibility to 50 in ASv6 ---> 5 to 6 FPSWith maximun visibility to 29 in ASv6 ---> 7 to 8 FPS. Any other modification without positive impact on the FPS.So almost same result as my "standard" configuration (2 video cards and 3 screens) as found in my signature. I run this config for months and success previous to SU2

I noticed a drop also in frames, but I didn't do any measurements. My last couple of flights have been in fairly clear skies, but my first after the update was with overcast and I was really stuttering along. I have a 3.0MHZ, Nvidia card with latest drivers. Have clouds at 64, DTX. Never noticed the stutters until after the update. Is it possible to roll back to the original AS6? Mike

Hi,I've noticed a framerate drop on my computer as well, compared to ASV in which my frames were actually better. However, I am running the software with hardware that is below the recommended requirement, so it could be that my computer is too slow for AS6, but as other users have reported low frames with computers far superior to mine I thought I should let you know. Apart from this I think AS6 is awesome! I'm very happy and the support is absolutely superb. Well done.Glenn

Hello Jim,I made all my testing with "keep ASG running on auto-submit" unchecked. Will do the same tests with this option checked and report back.

Hi Glenn,Even though this is a "me too" problem, please start a new thread next time. It makes things easier to resolve!Make sure your ASG settigns are the same as before. Same with ASv6 settings. Also, try with the Leave ASG open Option turned Off.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg

Hello,I made tests with "keep ASG running on auto-submit" checked and I report an increase of FPS :in clouds 7 fps , above clouds 15 fps so beter results with this option.FYI I observed that when at end of flight and FSAutostart stops ASv6 and the program is stopped, the ASG icon is still present (despite the "close ASG with ASv6" ) in the systray stays there untill it is selected .Hope it will help.

Hi,Thanks for that information. Now you will see the problem we are having!:So far, we have found the opposite: FPS improve with this option turned Off.So maybe it is best to leave things as an option??Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg
