cannot find Ground environment in ASV6 interface

Recommended Posts

When I click on (GE Pro) on the ASV6 interface I get the following message. " Ground Environment Pro was not found which is required to use this feature " If anyone has had this problem I would like to know how to resolve it. I don't know what other information I can supply that might help track the problem. Thanks. (chik)

Hi,Sorry for the problem.1. Got to ask: you do have GEP installed, correct?2. Is GEP installed in the default path structure?3. Did you move GEP after installation?4. Is this a single computer or network installation? Please let us know and I will be back in the morning.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Gday, I have a similar problem and was watching the outcome here but to didn't develop as hoped. GEP connects with ASv6 OK for weather and so on but for some reason I have nothing in the ASv6 interface to connect to GEP. For info, GEP is in Flight One Software folder under Program Files. Asv6 Base Folder is located on E Drive. Your comments would be appreciated and my thanks in advance.:(

Hi Don,Just a reminder that only one banner is allowed at AVSIM.Do you have the proper options turned on in ASv6?What path does your registry show for GEPro?Have you gone through the special GE Pro document? Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Thankyou for your prompt response and note your comment about re one banner...does this mean I can keep just one or the other...if this is so it makes it hard seeing I'm a proud supporter of ASv6 and RCv4. Anyway to your questions:-1. Sorry for my ignorance but what do you mean by proper options..I have altered some settings after reading posts in the forum. Could you please elaborate.2. Registry path shows "e:Program FilesFlight One Software"3. Again, I'm not sure what you mean by "the special GE Pro document"...could you please also explain where it is located or where I find it.Thankyou in anticipation.

Hello Don. I should have explained what the solution to my problem was so that others could benefit from it. Sorry for that. In order for Active Sky and Ground Environment Pro 2 (GEP) to work togather you must have the following in place. 1) ASv6 with service update 5 (su5) This product can be found at http://www.hifisim.com/ Install Active sky version 6 and then get the latest update (su5) 2) GEP 2 version 2.1.1 This product can be found at http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?search...d%20Environment Install GEP (version 2.0.0). Then obtain the update (version 2.1.0) which inludes features for Widefs users (network setup). Lastly install the most current update (version 2.1.1) which is needed to link Active Sky and GEP 2. For features and updates visit the GE Pro website at http://environments.flight1.net/gepro/index.htm Be sure to run GEP after each step and verify what version you have by clicking on "about" in the GEP interface. It is not necessary to create texture sets or sky sets untill you are finished. AS for the solution to my original problem: " Ground Environment Pro could not be found which is required to use this feature " The registry path was incorrect. This was probably unique to me because I was on the beta team and many upgades and changes took place which may have led to the problem. I have been assured by members of both teams that by installing to the default path given you should not have any problems. If Your problem persists however, you can verify the path by going to start/run/regedit/ok and make sure that the path does read C/Program Files/Flight One Software. Also be sure you only have one Ground Environment Professional folder. It will be located as such /C/Program Files/Flight One Software/Ground Environment Professional.:-rotor

Hi Don,Either banner and then you can use text as I do!1. Enable GE Pro Submit on New FP and Enable WideFS Integration Mode in ASv6.3. From the Start/Programs/ActiveSky 6/ASv6 and GE Pro Integration MS Word document.Keep us up to date,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Gday again. Just thought it may help others to post this. Having worked through all the items mentioned above I found everything to be in order. Quite by chance (frustration more likely!!) I decided to check the properties of my desktop shortcut and guess what...it wasn't the latest. Yes, having loaded the updates correctly I forget to change it to the updated version icon. A basic oversight..just thought by admitting to my mistake may help others solve a problem. Thanks and regards, everything is now working fine. Regards:-hmmm
