October 28, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi,Pete Dowson has mentioned this is a known performance issue with WideFS and FSX/SimConnect and he is working on it. While it appears to affect quite a few users, some users are not experiencing this and it may be related to specific network configurations. We're also working on our side to take direct and full advantage of the new SimConnect interface which appears to offer better overall performance in the networking and weather setting department. This is requiring a complete rewrite in many areas so its taking a bit of time but we are working on it... Might I suggest that as a test, those experiencing WideFS performance issues please try a local installation. The overall performance may be better in this situation until these things can be resolved. Thanks! Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
October 29, 200619 yr I am getting the slowdown over a local install. But I thought this was normal behavior? ASV always has done this, FS9 or FSX.Some people say, on a dual-core, with ASV set to use 2nd core, this doesn't happen. I don't know...RhettAMD 3700+ (@2.5 ghz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (94.47), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
October 29, 200619 yr Hi,I'm sure this update problem in FSX will be resolved but until it is, is there a way to disable all updates once the weather is loaded for the flightplan or would that just be a matter of loading the weather and then quitting AS.ThanksJeb
October 29, 200619 yr Pete Dowson released FSUIPC4 v4.023 today, downlaodable from his forum. One of the fixes includes a weather-scan set to 2 seconds instead of 1 second. Installed it, but haven't tried it yet against ASv6.5. Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
October 29, 200619 yr I experience the white flashing as well with AS6, but I am not networked. I also got this flashing using stock FSX weather as well though. As a matter of fact it is not as bad using AS6 as it was using FSX real world weather.
November 1, 200619 yr Hi All,Did anyone get a chance to try version 4.023 and did it help the stuttering on weather load? Thanks,Jeb
November 1, 200619 yr Cap'n Tarmack,I disabled both "throttling" options in ASV and only every now and then are being bothered with slower framerates while ASV is refreshing its data. I know that this resolution doesn't work for everyone, but you may want to try and see if it helps you.Hans Kind regards, Hans van WIjhe Acer Predator P03-640 2.10 Ghz Intel 12th Gen Core 17-12700F 64GB memory, Noctua NH-U9S Cooler, 1.02 TB SSD HD, 1.02 TB HD, NVidia Geforce RTX 3070 16GB Memory, Windows 11 (x64)

November 2, 200619 yr Hi Jeb,have tried 4.023 and weather loading still causes stuttering. AS6.5 installed on another machine, using WideFS 7.Regards,Jure
November 2, 200619 yr Hi guys,Experiencing similar issues. On AS6.5 update FSX exhibits slow down and a sort white overcase flashing above the aircraft when in flight. After the updates complete, all is normal again. November 4, 200619 yr Having same issue on local install. Very bad stuttering when weather is refreshed and also see flashes, but not as bad as default FSX dynamic weather..Using FSUIPC 4.02 and ASV6.5
November 4, 200619 yr Hi,Sorry for the trouble. Right now there is not much we can do about the flashing. Is ASG disabled? Is write throttling disabled? Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
November 5, 200619 yr Throttling is disabled yes, but how do you disable ASG ? All I see is an ASG button in the main interface ( top left ) but when you open it it says that it's not yet compatible with FSX ThanksPS...What about the slowing down of FSX when the wheather is updated - it drops from about 18fps to 5 or 6 fps..sometimes even as low as 3?Thanks
November 5, 200619 yr Hi,On the AS options page, uncheck "Enable ASG Auto-Submit" in the "Graphics" section... Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
