Hi,Edit this line:PersonalAppDataFolder=to point to one of the folders and run AS. Then close AS down, change the path and run AS again. Make sure those folders are shared across your network.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Last question about this item:Since I'm running ASv6.5 in a widefs config don't I need to have both path altogether in AS.ini so AS will know which FS (9 or X) I'll be using?

Okay, so I have read through this but I still don't know what to do.I installed v6.5 from scratch for use in FS9. That is working great. (Thanks by the way.) Since then I have installed FSX and would like to see about getting it working there as well. However, I have no idea where to start. Is there a finalized set of instructions someplace? Thanks!

What happened to having to modify the .ini files (whatever those are)? I don't need to do that? I do want to be able to use AS for both FS9 and FSX.Also, is it necessary to uncheck the selections to automatically copy over new texture files based on weather conditions since this doesn't apply to FSX? Or am I just reading this completely wrong?

Hi,That is optional just to update the station list one time.If you are using B533 you cannot point ASG to FSX so no textures can be submitted. Yes, Auto Submit should be disabled for performace issues.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

The V6.5 instructions says is better to point AS to the FSX path when previously installed in FS9, in my case it points to FS9/modules/asv6.- Where I should point in the FSX folder ?Thanks

I could recommend that you do a new install and install AS6.5 on its own folder rather than on the FS9 folder.will make things easier. One other thing is to note that anyone using both FS9 and FSX shoul backup the registry key of FS9, the unistaller of FSX removes the whole Flight simulator key taking away the sub key for FS9 with it.After that, no add-on application will detect your FS9 folder.

Thanks SamrecIn case I reinstall AS6.5 on its own folder, should I point it to FSX as instructed ?Very interesting your warning about the FS9 registry key, where I can find it ?.- I suspected some interaction between both simulators when it happened to me that after installing FSX, I couldnt start FS9 and an error warning popped out about problems with some dll s, so I had to reinstall FS9.-In reverse,if I uninstall FS9 it affects FSX ?Regards>I could recommend that you do a new install and install AS6.5>on its own folder rather than on the FS9 folder.>>will make things easier.>>>One other thing is to note that anyone using both FS9 and FSX>shoul backup the registry key of FS9, the unistaller of FSX>removes the whole Flight simulator key taking away the sub key>for FS9 with it.>After that, no add-on application will detect your FS9>folder.>

run regedit and on the software tab scroll down to Microsoft then flight simulator you will have two entries one for FSX and nother for FSX.I did not unistall FS9 so I don't know. Chances are it might.if you install AS6.5 on its own the only one you have to point to FS9 (it will ask) is ASG, AS6.5 if I'm right will connect and send info the the version of FSUIPC currently active so no problems there. You could also add the lineFSX path:your path goes here to the ini right below the FS9 entry if you want to, not stricly necessary.cheers

Backup the registry key of FS9?So once I find the key how do I back it up? And once it's backed up and I remove and reinstall FSX (which I need to do right now), how do I put it back?

I'm getting the same error with similar setup:new computer Intel Duo 6700FSX onlyFSUIPC 4.06 registered (weather settings off)I think AS6.5 downloaded from my old receipt link but I patched it also.First error message popup window saysAS was unable to properly detect your personal Application Data folder (for FS wx mapping entries). Please browse to it in the next screen... It is located in the FS9 machine as Documents and Settings[username]Application Data. This Folder must be shared for read/write access.Only issue I have with this statement is that my Windows XP with 1 user other than Administrator doesn't really have an option to share directories. In order to do that they get "dragged into the Shared Documents folder". I've tried it either way - my account folder and the All UsersShared Documents folder - and I still get this error every time I start AS.Has this issue been resolved since October 2006? or are we still working on it?Thanks, teamsiems
