I have received permission to release these textures through my site for your flying pleasure. It is important to note that Bryan Smith, a very keen Delta fan contracted me to create these liveries for his personal needs but has graciously gifted them all back to the simming community to be enjoyed by all. There is a set of reflective and non reflective textures available for each of the following MD-11 aircraft:Delta - Old Livery - White NoseDelta - Old Livery - Striped NoseDelta - New LiveryDelta - Atlanta Olympic LiveryFedEx - Current Liveryhttp://www.gjsmith.com/images/MD-11-FedEx-1.jpgThese textures are available at:http://www.gjsmith.com/textures/md11.htmRequestsIf you want to make a request then feel free to test out my new request page at:http://www.gjsmith.com/textures/request.htmRegards, happy simming and I hope you enjoy the new textures.http://www.gjsmith.com/images/gjsmithdotcom-2.gifGarry J. Hi JetNingaIn layman terms for you I hope - What happens when you create a DXT3 image is that the image format hold the STANDARD IMAGE, the Alpha Information and upto 9 MIPS (scaled version of the image for textures at different distances)In the process of creating all of these layers and effects when compiling to DXT3 format there is by default some degrading which is most noticable of smaller detail and areas for textures.Aircraft created with large work areas for textures adapt readily to graphics manipulation and suffer less from degrading when compiled to DXT3. In the case of the MD-11 - like many of the MS aircraft all of the textures are on just one image so naturally components like fuselarge etc are smallish and will suffer in the compile process. Therefore for the MD-11 I have released both version.http://www.gjsmith.com/images/gjsmithdotcom-2.gifGarry J.
