Help! Lost Some of AS6 Program during Shift to FSX

Featured Replies

Jim,Dave D alias Draky (ex Oztralia now back in UK) here - have had the misfortune to lose some elements of my AS6.5 when shifting to a new drive assigned for FSX. Tried applying the update again over what was left in the FSXModulesAS6 folder but alas looks like all is lost. Jim can you help out yet again? sorry to trouble you with this but I can't fly without my Active Sky being active. Thanks in advance - Capt. Dave - "DRAKY"

It looks like a folder (and I guess files?) that is supposed to reside in the C:Documents and Settings[user name]Applications Data (for FS weather mapping entries) is missing. When I try to load AS6.5 WinXP attempts to configure AS and looks for the .msi file - this is not present on my machine. I have been doing a major clean up after installation of a new HD and now have FSX located in G:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator X. I moved the ASV6 program from the old FS9 Modules folder and placed all files in the Modules folder of FSX (in a folder = "ASV6"). Looks like the clean out of FS9 has also taken with it some of the AS elements?A puzzled Dave :(

Hi Dave,Welcome back!We need to clean some things up here:First, get that ASV6 folder out of FSX. That will cause problems. FSX is designed a bit differently in this area.Next, you need to do a complete uninstall of AS including registry entries. If you need a cleaner, I can suggest: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...Ben-us%3B290301Then, drop me an e-mail for something.Last, you will do a clean install, outside of FSX.Thanks much,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Jim,Long time indeed - please take a look at your e-mail, have followed all of the above (well nearly!) - the mail will explain all.Still crazy with simming but not much time with work to play in the forums - life is a little more hectic here in the UK than it ever was down under in Oz.Thanks for the quick response to my call..... Dave D.
