Does ASX/XGraphics require a desktop setting of 96 DPI?

Recommended Posts

I have read in some posts where users were having problems with the GUI of these new programs, and the answer was to set their desktop to 96 DPI. Is this a definite fact that ASX/XGraphics do not support large font settings? If this is the case, then I will have to think twice as to whether to purchase them. $80 American is a lot of money along with the exchange rate to Canadian dollars.I have a 24" monitor, and if I set it to 96 DPI, I would need a magnifying glass to see anything that small. It is a royal PITA to have to do a restart every time to change the font to be able to use these programs. If this is indeed a fact that at the present time, a setting of 96 DPI is required, will you consider creating a patch to accept large font settings? Thanks,Bill

Hi,It's nice to hear that this issue will get fixed in a future patch.I'm using a 20inch, 1680x1050 native resolution display with a 120dpi setting in Windows. Going back to 96dpi is not an option for me, since all the text (and everything else, for that matter) is too small and unpleasant to read at 96dpi.These are two shots of ASX and X-Graph UIs the way they show up in my system. As you can see, the UIs are not fully functional at 120dpi: text lines, options boxes and other UI elements are not shown correctly.http://www.cruzdesanandres.com/orleans/ASX_UI.jpghttp://www.cruzdesanandres.com/orleans/XG_UI.jpgI'm eagerly wating for the patch. ;)Excellent products, by the way. I'm truly enjoying FSX with ASX+XG installed. The sim looks awesome now, and your weather engine is fantastic. Thanks,Orleans
