Active Sky X: sometimes the ground turns white

I apologize if this question has been asked before; I tried to search for it. I have Active Sky X/X Graphics/FSX/sp1. My problem is that on a fairly clear day, when I get to about 2,000 feet above ground level or so, suddenly the ground turns mostly white, as if it
