ActiveSky X without FSX Installed?

Recommended Posts

Guest peridoc

Is there a way to possibly run ActiveSky X on a computer without FSX installed on it? I have a laptop and it would be nice to get to know the product a lot better if I had it installed on there for a bit. Thanks for any help!

That is good news...and it sure was fast! :) How do you run the program the first time like this? I keep getting asked for the location of FSX. If I hit cancel, I just go back to the desktop. Thanks again!

Well..I picked a random folder and the installation and startup completed as you said it would. But, once I got into the program the tabs did not function exactly as they should (Report, Maps, etc.) and the processor usage shot up to 100% and made my computer unusable. I assume it is not happy about not having the necessary FSX data files there and that is causing the issue.

Hmm...I already have .NET 2.0 installed. Any other thoughts?

That is ok...I will just mess with it on my gaming computer. I just thought it would be cool to have it on my laptop as well, but it is not that important. Thanks for the help though! Great product! :)
