I mentioned I would provide data so you can assist me so here it is:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176831.jpgThese are my settingshttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176823.jpgThese are the setting I used to create a 100NM area of 500-3500 OVC and 5000-7000 OVC decks.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176826.jpgThis picture reflects the 100nm area with a TAF showing. All stations under these 2 cloud decks are reporting the same conditions.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176827.jpg1000 AGL (500 feet above 500 OVC observation)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176829.jpgTop down view at 2200 AGL.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176828.jpg3300 AGL (should be close to breaking out on top but have never hit weather yet)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176830.jpgWx Map taken simultaneously with the 3300 AGL aircraft picture.Hope this helps.System specs: Intel e6700 Dual Core, 4 GB Ram on a eVGA 680i MB, and a nVidia 8800 video card. (Latest drivers on all) i run on a network setup and have no complaints on that, connectivity with sim connect is good and updates happen on time.Steve

FSX was already set for Detailed Clouds and Maximum density. Enable Skyscape mode was off prior to the SP1 release and then I saw a thread where someone had great looking weather with it on so i turned it on and saw no real difference. Is there an .ini I can provide for better insight to my settings in FSX and/or ASX? What should I have in ASG??? I have pretty much gone with the suggested defaults per the manual or what I have read from the techies here.

There is a cumulus01.bmp (note the 01 not 1) in my texture folder. Funny thing is if I double click it, it says drawing failed for that one and the cumulus02.bmp. Other .bmp files load up and show a single cloud "tile" if you will. There are other .bmp files in the texture folder that say drawing failed when opened and ones that open just fine.Steve

Hi Steve,That is normal. For some reason you are not getting cumulus clouds to draw. So, try and submit a new set of textures through X Graphics. Then try a weather theme in FSX like Major Thunderstorm. Do not have ASX running at this time. What does that look like in your FSX?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

I tried the submit new textures thought yesterday with no noticeable effect. If I just run FSX and use the Advanced Weather tab and create a 5000 foot overcast deck (8/8), I get a solid blanket of clouds underneath me like I should. So for some reason ASX is not telling FSX that overcast is an 8/8 deck and it looks more like a broken set of cluds are being drawn. (Remember I am running ASX on a second computer???)Steve

When an observation shows 020 OVC, how thick does ASX make the overcast deck? The real weather could be 1000 feet thick or 10,000 feet thick, it is always different. What does ASX use for determining it's cloud thickness??Steve
