Problem with Historical downloads in ASX

Recommended Posts

Up til yesterday I was able to set to historical dates - mainly to track Hurricane Dean. Last night while ASX was running it CTD'd. Since then I can only set to real time. When I set to a Historical time like say 8/20 which should put Dean in the position Heading towards Cozemel, it is located on the ASX map (and Radar Gauge) over it's real time position at it's second landfall on the gulf coast. The load itself goes without error according to the info on the main screen and indicates the proper time and date file was loaded. Has anyone else seen this? This all worked before the CTD yesterday which was roughly in the area of 21:00 EDT last night. BTW I used it to track Flossie also without a problem!

Thanks

Hi Tom,This is my take. Once a hurricane becomes history it't location is locked into place with it's last known co-ordinates, active. I too cannot get DEAN to back up on the map.Try this: Flossie is history, so try and get her to back up on the map. What I will do is file a bug report and see if this is true or not.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

I figured it out! If a Hurricane is already on the map from the real time download or a previous historical download when you reload a historical download it does load it but doesn't remove the previous one, so you end up with more than 1 depiction. When I saw Dean at the then present position after loading the historical download for when it was on it's way to Cozemel when I saw the position hadn't changed from the realtime position,I never checked for where it should be, but it probably was loaded, it's just ASX didn't remove the real time depiction. I hope this makes sense. Here's a Screenshot to show what I mean Of Flossie. The depiction on the right is it's position on 8/12 and on the left on 8/15.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177164.jpg

>Hi Tom,>>Thanks for that, but that is different then my experience with>DEAN. We'll wait and see what Damian comes up with.>>Thanks Much,>Jim>Well then it looks like there are 2 separate problems here, which calls in to question, if it's not clearing out the hurricane data when you change historical views, is it doing it correctly with the other weather conditions it loads?

Thanks

Tom
