Active sky time versus Flight time

Recommended Posts

Hi Can some one please explain the following :When I start active sky and load a flight plan, the weather is set up for the time that is indicated at the top of the active sky window as local time and date etc.Normally this is my local time.I am in the uk.But when I start the flight sim I sometime choose a different time, location etc.The question is how can I adjust the time in the active sky to match the flight time in the fs.Otherwise the weather loaded for the flight will not match the active sky weather build????Please help me clear this concern? confusion? Qas

Hi Qas,I think I know what you are asking, so I'll give it a shot! With Use Systen Time checked On, AS will always download and use current weather, no matter the time in FS.With Use System Time checked Off, AS will use the time in FS.That should do it!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

Hi JimThanks for the quick reply.I am still very unclear on this.Let me explain what I do and see if it fits in with the above explanation.I start AS6.5 and import the flight plan for OMDB to EGLL say at 10am UK time.AS generates a weather and at the top says local time 10.00 am with todays date.I start fs2004 and load the flight but I want to start the flight in the afternoon say 2.00pm.The question is how does the AS generated weather for 10.am uk timematch the 2pm local weather at OMDB. Shouldn't AS6.5 be requesting the time for the flight to create a exact weather situation for OMDB.Looking forward to your comments.Qas

Hi,If you are using System time, AS ignores the time in FS, downloads the current weather for your FS location and sends it to FS. In fact it doesn't even look at the time and date in FS. For example: you can start things up, move the date back 6 months and AS will still give you the current weather at your FS location. Of course, if you are flying using "future" time, the best we can do is use the current weather. In your example, you will have the current weather for your entire trip.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
