Noticed something today in ASX.....

Recommended Posts

For the last few flights, I have noticed that my skies were not as dramatic/modeled from what I'm used to with AS (also using XGraphics). This has happened somewhat regularly, and I've always wondered why....So, on a flight to Martha's vineyard today, I decided to 'go up' to the menue and select weather....saw that it was 'toggled' to custom, and hit OK. When I got back to the cockpit...walla...my AS weather and clouds looks as I though they would. Why would this be happening? Here a a couple shots before going to the weather menu, and after...Before...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177571.jpgand after taken just seconds afterwards...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177572.jpgI guess I could always go to the weather menu and 'hit' OK to make sure the weather and graphics are implemented, but I know this isn't how this is suppose to workAlso, I have noticed that the ASX Gauge can be very finicky about displaying my changes (zoom, metars, etc). Is anyone else having issues here? Thanks in advance.

Hi,Under normal usage, weather in FSX should be set to User Defined automatically. You might not be getting good communication between FSX and ASX. That also may be the reason for your X Gauge behavior.I suggest a uninstall/reinstall of FSX SP1.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

I figured you would say that Jim :DGoodness, I hate to take a chance on reinstalling as I hear about the problems which can arise....but you are probably right, and I should just take the 'big gulp' and do it.BTW, I just took another flight from Martha's to Portland Maine, checked out the weather page before I got started and the weather/clouds looked as they should in AS, without a hiccup. Still had some issues with the AS Gauge though, although it did work better....it's probably the SimConnect.
