XPax won't connect to FSX

Recommended Posts

I don't get any of the error messages I've seen, but XPax won't connect to the sim. All I get is the following at the bottom of the XPax window:Sim Msg: Failed to connect. Please ensure FS is running. It's running, I'm parked at the gate, brakes set. All the config and registry entries appear correct- here's the cfg file:[XPax Settings]FSXPath=G:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesMicrosoft Flight Simulator XFSXAppDataPath=FS9Path=FS9AppDataPath=FSVersion=FSXFSAutoConnect=TrueAutoBoarding=FalseAutoDoors=TrueSimMessages=TruePlayAudio=TruePlayVideo=TrueMetricUnits=TruePassengerBoardingTime=3ApprovalReductionSensitivity=10MinimumCruiseAltitude=5000WindowPosX=140WindowPosY=123Any ideas? Thanks.

Yes, SP 1 is installed. I even reinstalled it, with no luck. There is nothing odd about my installation other than being on my G drive. I have no idea why it won't connect.

SimConnect TroubleshootingSimConnect not found errorNote: FSX SP1 upgrade includes SP1 SimConnect which is required by XPax. Acceleration/SP2 apparently DOES NOT include the proper SP1 SimConnect entries, so those with Acceleration/SP2 need to also ensure that SP1 is installed (ideally BEFORE Acceleration/SP2 is installed). FSX SP1 is the minimum FSX version supported. Some users may experience trouble with SimConnect installation preventing proper operation of XPax or other SimConnect add-ons. You may receive the following message during XPax startup:Simconnect SP1 managed version was not found to be correctly installed on this system. It is recommended to uninstall and reinstall the FSX SP1 update so this can be repaired. To uninstall, use add/remove programs and enable the 'Show updates' checkbox to make the SP1 update visible. Remove it then re-install. This will usually correct the situation. If you continue having problems please see the XPax Documentation SimConnect Troubleshooting section.Reinstalling the FSX update(s) (recommended procedure)The first step in attempting to repair your SimConnect installation is to uninstall/reinstall FSX SP1 (and Acceleration/SP2, if you have it) update. Removal is done in add/remove programs, making sure to check the "Show updates" box to see the SP1 and Acceleration/SP2 update entry (if XP) or choosing the "View installed updates" option in (Vista). The majority of potential installation issues will be solved with this method.Manual deletion and reinstallation (if recommended reinstall procedure does not fix the problem)If further problems are experienced, the actual SP1 SimConnect installation may be damaged/corrupt and the normal reinstall procedure may not work to correct the situation. If the described reinstall does not work, please follow these instructions to force a manual reinstallation:Uninstall/remove the SP1 (and Acceleration/SP2, if installed) update(s) as described above in the recommended procedureUsing Windows Explorer, locate the folder: C:Windowswinsxs (your Windows folder may be different if you chose to install it into another location. C:Windows is the normal default)In this folder will be the entry: x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61242.0_none_e079b46b85043c20Delete this entry by highlighting it and pressing the DELETE key on your keyboard (confirm YES to delete) - NO NOT DELETE ANY OTHER ENTRIES!!!Reinstall the FSX SP1 update, followed by the FSX Acceleration/SP2 update (if desired)Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
