February 10, 200818 yr Hi Guys, after installing the Aerosoft Twin Otter, and setting it up with the XGauge, whenever I select the gauge within the aircraft the gauge does not 'show itself', and the cursor continuously begins to blink (with the hourglass flashing). the only way to get rid of the issue is to switch aircraft.I checked my other aircraft and they are fine.I removed the XGauge from the Twotter panel.cfg (two (2) of them by restored the original), the ran the configutor again, but got the same results. Any ideas?
February 10, 200818 yr Hi,Please post the panel.cfg for that plane.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
February 10, 200818 yr Author Here ya go Jim,http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184758.txthttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184759.txtThanks for taking a look Jim,Brian
February 10, 200818 yr Hi,Take this line:gauge00=XGauge!WeatherMap,0,0,277,221and make it:gauge00=XGauge!WeatherMap,0,0Then lets see.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
February 10, 200818 yr Author Hi Jim,Nope, unfortunately that didn't work. I also tried making the gauge smaller: 0,0,175,14, but that didn't help either. Then I tried pasting the XGauge.dll into the panel folder where the other Otter instrument cabs are located, and no luck with that either.I also noticed once I tried opening the gauge in the Otter, the XGauge would not work in my other aircraft either until I re-booted FS, then it would return as normal in any other aircraft I tried...until selecting it in the Otter again.I have modified allot of panels, but this one has me a bit 'stumped'.
February 10, 200818 yr Hi,The only other thing I noticed before was the line above window 04 where it has://------------------I know // means "ignore" but I wonder if that has anything to do with this.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
February 10, 200818 yr Author That was my fault Jim, I moved it below Window #4 (the XGauge) but it did not make any difference. What is really odd is that in the non-panel GPS panel, the default GPS is brought up from the gauge folder, so I cannot see why that would make a difference (as far as the rest of the Aerosoft gauge cabs being 'called' from the 'panel' folder. The panel folder is only there for the Aerosoft gauges). The Folder structure is thus:-->Areosoft Twin Otter 300 ----> panel (Aerosoft gauge cabs and lighting sub-directory) ----> panel.gps (the panel.cfg with the Aerosoft Bendix 90b gps installed on the panel, all gauges are called up from the 'panel' directory) ----> panel.org (the panel.cfg sans GPS on the panel and 'old style' NAV/COM radios)
February 11, 200818 yr Hi,I would go to their forum and ask if anyone else is using that plane and X Gauge together.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
February 11, 200818 yr Author I'll, do that Jim, but wanted to run it by you first. Thanks for taking the time.Brian
February 14, 200818 yr Commercial Member Try undocking the main panel window and slide it down and see if xgauge is hiding behind it for some reason. I had that problem with my level-d plane. If it is move it up to the top of the screen, undock the xgauge window and the set your main panel back to where it was or where you want it and dock the main panel window back. Then save your flight.Hope this helps ya.Dave ESSB Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
February 16, 200818 yr Author Thanks for the hint Dave, I'll check it out. Seems others are having issues with similar programs (FSMap? I believe), so ultimately it has something to do with how the VC is structured...IMO.I don't fly in 'window mode' so not sure your suggestion will help me out or not, but I'll take a peek.
