I'm no expert, but I beleive the best short-term fix is to drop back to v4.26 if you still have lying around. I'm betting Pete will argue that disabling "Allow Changes to FS weather" will indeed contradict the FSUIPC smoothing or spike elimination processes between FSUIPC and the FS Weather engine. Again, I'm not 100% sure, but IIRC, he has said something to that affect in more than one of his forum threads.Regards,

I have the April 28/2008 registered version 4.28 of FSUIPCI followed the suggestion of going into FSUIPC to uncheck the box "Allow FS changes to own weather". It wasn't checked, so that wasn't going to help get rid of the fog/whiteout/clouds washed out problem, with ASX SP3.I tried getting rid of FSUIPC to see if that would help...nope, that didn't do it neither.I reinstalled FSUIPC to see what that would do. Nothing helped there either. Finally, within FSUIPC, I clicked the button to erase all weather. BINGO!! That did it. Flew for hours with no issues. Everything back to running smooth, incredibly crispy clear, sky and terrain graphics. Everything running smooth at 60fps (110 fps with vsync off) in nvidia settings. I force the vsync to be on in the nvidia control panel settings because with it on, this provides Xbox console type smoothness under any condition of flight or weather condition. If I shut off the Vsync in the nVidia control panel, or use application controlled, things don't run nearly as well.Had supper, reloaded ASX and FSX. The problem of everthying whiting out was back. So, I went right back into FSUIPC, clicked that clear all weather button, then went back to my flying. ASX immediately reloaded giving back the crystal clear environment for a couple more hours of flying. Awesome!!So, what it looks like to me, something is not getting cleaned out each time the ASX/FSX combo is started up. Once I clean it out manually by clicking the clear all weather button within FSUIPC, I am off and running. Hope this helps.Q6600 OC'd 3.6 ghzASUS P5K-E WiFi/APBFG 9800GX2 video (no OC)4 gigs of cheap Apacer DDR2-800 (4-4-4-12)Win XP Pro SP3FSX AccelerationTrackIR 4 ProGEX-CanadaASX SP3All sliders with FSX on MAX and all boxes have a checkmark in them, except for...AUTOGEN DENSITY shut off. I don't need it. GEX takes care of that.Level of Radius Detail: MediumWater effects: none to 1.maxCommercial/General Aviation 20% to 40%Ground scenery shadows: box uncheckedAircraft labels: box unchecked (too unrealistic with it on)default FSX.cfgno tweaks of any kind other than what I mentioned above. My hardware really handles the combo of FSX/GEX/ASX extremely well. And I wasn't exagerating when I speak of the smoothness equivalent to playing on an Xbox 360 console.

Well, that was fun while it lasted...ASX SP3 is still performing well....uh....most/some of the time. Basically, I don't get the "fog"...EXCEPT....once in awhile. Its like everything is clear for awhile, then I fly into certain areas and the washout kicks in. Move out of that area, everything comes clear. Now, one would think that the washout would happen around big cities, around big airports. Not the case. The washout, surprisingly, happens around sparsly populated areas and small airports. Go figure. Again, I fly out of the area, everything comes clear. Do a 360. Fly back into the area, the sky washes out.It happens far to often for my liking. I can't rely on continuous flying without hitting the washouts 2-3 times per hour. I even tried putting all the sliders to the left, plus unchecked and lowered anything I could find just to see what that would do. Problem still exists.Funny how I can throw everything weather wise that originates from FSX and this issue doesn't come up.Anyways, the bottomline for me, ASX is buggy right now. I don't need the headaches when FSX gives me very near the same thing for weather, minus the dynamics.I currently have a system that runs FSX full out with smoothness equivalent to playing on a gaming console. Too bad really. ASX is a great compliment to FSX....when it works. Right now, it isn't working right.Good Luck HiFi. If you want me to keep buying your addons, I won't be to encouraged to do so if you have products with UNRESOLVED bugs in them.

hiI just carried out a flight from EGLL to KJFK. I got within 200nm of JFK and the outside temp turned from -11 to +34, what the ####.Going back to FSMETEO, that worked fine, so did activesky until the update.

Thanks

Paul

no its become very unstabel since the update, it was fine until then. Now it frequently adjust temps on its own, it seems to be as the AC is entering different sectors. the outside temp will go from -11 to 37 then I have to exit actsky, which then crashes fsx.Now done the same flight agian EGLL to KJFK and it worked fine, so it pretty strange.

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,Here is your latest report:"Now done the same flight agian EGLL to KJFK and it worked fine, so it pretty strange."Nobody else is reporting this, and we cannot reporduce this in-house.Can you give us the steps to reproduce this? Have you tried with a default plane? Have you reset FSUIPC to default settings and weather settings off? Then we'll be happy to take a look.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

I dont understand it, it worked 100% before the update, done FSUIPC turned it off. When at departure, I set the route into ACTSK X, temp 19deg, take off, the min the plane starts its climb, 20, 21 22 23 upto 40deg, shut down ASX, restart works fine, half way into landing it goes crazy again, -31C then +35, and as you can appreciate the speeds and descent rates are all over the place. How else can I help with the info you require????I will try running again with the a default FSX plane, but I always do use PMDG 747, and yes I have reset FSUIPC.DO you want some screen shots or the front ASX screen posted ??Thanks for looking

Thanks

Paul

Hi,Here is what I want you to try first:Remove FSUIPC and also fly with a default plane. You will know, right away it seems, if there is a problem or not.No, no screen shots yet. I don't think it is a data problem in ASX at this time. It seems to be a problem in the way the data is being used in FSX.Please let us know and then I'll suggest the next steps.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
