June 20, 200817 yr Must be a stupid question but here it is:Until now I use to fly FSX using the "real-world weather (with updates)" option and my custom settings include also the cloud coverage density and draw distance. When I will have installed Active Sky X and X Graphics and then will run FSX, what about these settings? What shall I have to choose?I can't understand how ASX settings could override FSX ones, since FSX will be started after ASX.In other words: what shall I have to check as 3-Current Weather options and in the SettingsWeayher page?
June 20, 200817 yr asx will override the fsx settings for type of weather, it sets it automatically to 'user defined weather'. even if you start your flight after starting asx, the asx process is sitting around waiting for fsx and will begin sending weather data to it when everything is running. (sometimes if you start a flight very quickly you will see asx still setting up some of the clouds and other features right after loading.) generally for me asx is finished reading metars data and has started weather depiction by the time i've got my plane/flightplan setup and hit 'fly now'stuff like the cloud coverage density and draw distance is independent of the asx settings, and really just needs to be set for whatever is appropriate for your system's performance..
June 20, 200817 yr Hi,Just to add to this!Cloud coverage density should be set to far right on the slider, maximum I think it is called.Cloud draw distance is whatever your system can handle. Mine is far left, 60 miles, with no problems.Thanks!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
