May 8, 200323 yr Hey there Stephan. Still looking forward to "Sally". If you take request, I would like to put one in for the 489th BS 345th BG. I'll try to post a pic for you. They flew in the Pacific, Mostly out of Okinawa. I just love the Indian on the tail. Todd
May 8, 200323 yr Oops, previous post listed the wrong Sqd.. should be 498th BS 345th BG. Here is a link to a picture of Apache Princess, Kermit Weeks beautifully restored B-25J at Oskosh in 2002. She looks fresh out of the paint shop.http://www.airventure.org/2002/gallery/ima...1/apacheb25.jpgI really like the paint scheme that has the bird on the nose that this group used, but they either used the field mod kit that replaced the glass nose with a solid, 8 .50 cal setup (whoa) or they just painted over the plexiglass and rigged up some extra .50's. It must have been a bummer to be on the recieving end of this setup, a possible 14 .50 cal's pointed your way! Thats right, 14!!! Eight in the nose, two in the top turret, and four more on the sidepods. the noise was unreal and the bird probaly pitched up 10 degrees just from the weight loss from the rounds being expended. Well, that's my rant for now. Thanks
