Greetings, all!One of the many things that is so fashinating about the both R4D and the Briefing Time, is how one discovers, one after another, all these fantastic small details! Here is one of them, that has eluded me until now:http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/11134.jpgYou will find it on the outer section of the right wing. It looks like some sort of green rod, attached to the leading edge of the wing. Could someone please enlighten me what it is? It somewhat looks like a harpoon for birds and/or high altitude flying fish hunting? :D Regards,-- Stefan

Hi Stefan,Here's a shot of the real thing I took from aloft in the MAAM cherry-picker. Have I mentioned I don't like heights unless I have wings strapped on? ;-) This is one of the shots Jan used to texture the plane.http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/wing.jpgIf I'm not mistaken, that's a pitot tube.Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, Young, Womack, and Hamblyhttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif

Thanks, Bill. And what a whale of a pitot tube it is... Someone might get pinned on that - looks dangerous. As for heights, I don't like them either, unless from the inside of an aeroplane, of course, I get dizzy from standing on a treshold in a door-way... :-)Regards,-- Stefan

That would be your standard issue pitot tube out there on the wing, and unless your at least 10-12 feet high your not going to just 'run into' it!
