Featured Replies

hi maam team. first of all thank you very much for the nice DC3 which flies now in Koenings Wusterhausen near by Berlin in Germany. would it be possible to generate a kind of mailing list where you inform registerd users about news? e.g. link for printable manual, link for new gauges, ....best regards - Frank

Sorry, Frank, but although your idea sounds good, it's a lot of extra work for our little volunteer staff. Anyway, we do not require registration and sell the CD's on-line, in the museum store to walk-in customers, at airshows from our "PX Tent", by phone and by mail.We will continue to use this MAAM-SIM Support Forum and Press Releases to inform our customers and the public of such things. We realize that this favors the on-line customers, but that's the nature of the game.Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, Young, Womack, and Sodjahttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif

hi bill, yes you are right, this would meen an additional work.may be as an alternative you can add a main topic in the forum which will be always at positon one or two where you only post news and donwloadlinks.this would make it easy to check whether there is something new. in the moment to find out some special donwloadlinks we have to go through all the other topics.all the very best - Frank

Good idea, Frank. I'll try to sort things out, and even get around to an FAQ, as soon as I get through my list of things to do immediately. ;-)Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, Young, Womack, and Sodjahttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif

Someone want to translate this for me so I can respond? Sorry, my German extends to "Ein bier, bitte. Wie lange bleiben Zie hier? Haben Zie fleisch, obst, pflantzen? The first is a remnant of my very brief time at Robert E. Lee Kassern as a young trooper in Gonsenheim in 1966, and the others from my 34 years in Customs." I also apologize for my spelling.ThanksBill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, Young, Womack, and Sodjahttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif

Thanks to Jan for this translation of TangoWiski's message: "Yes,great idea,Billy, too bad to have to work so hard. Life is pretty difficult to live in the USA,isn't it ? Maybe too much customs-free officers at the ADW office. Next time a little bit more humor, please and much less arrogance. Please don't forget: the germans are your friends, not your enemies"Sorry, TW, but I fail to see any lack of humor or any arrogance in my responses to Frank. None was intended, surely. On the contrary, I sense a hint of anti-Americanism and more than a hint of sarcasm in your post. I'm not sure why. I certainly know the Germans are friends, and my ancestry is German, in fact. The little town of Rambow still exists near Wittenberg. (I'm also a fanatical Michael Schumacher fan, and he just took pole in the German GP) So where did that come from, I wonder? The fact is, I really am busy - that's just me and has nothing to do with my natonality. My partners in The Netherlands, Canada, the UK, and the other Yanks on MAAM_SIM are also busy. I really do have a list of other things I have to do everyday to process the orders, as well as other priorities, and my comment about getting around to the FAQ and so on when I could find the time was sadly true.I'm always a little leery of guys who hide behind call-signs and who post no profile, and I wonder that you felt it necessary to make a snide comment in a language other than the one commonly used in the forum. Actually, I'm one of the funniest guys around. Just ask my two-year old grand-daughter, Tess. She thinks I'm a scream. If you mistake the tenor of my response, that is down to you. Perhaps it is you who needs to find a sense of humor. After a short time, during which you can read and, if you choose, respond, I will remove this thread, or at least the unpleasant part of it. We try to fly a light-hearted ship, here. Now, have you heard the one about the guy who walks into the bar with an aardvark on his shoulder? No? Neither have I. (see, told you I was a funny guy.) ;-)Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, Young, Womack, and Sodjahttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif
