Certainly !In fact i have just uploaded a finished model for checkout.Expect it to be available as a Christmas present any day now. Apart from the pax/cargo doors and pax seats it features many upgrades to the base model. This particular model is a photoreal rendition of Danish OY-BPB a.o. sporting a modern set of antenna's but the same upgraded model will also be available with vintage antenna's, pax or bucket seats to serve as a base C-47 for repainting. New wing texture mapping has been arranged for easy D-Day striping. Here's a truckload of preview screenies of the just finished OY-BPB model. Hi Kim,Are you sending attachments as well? If so size might be too big, cut them up in two seperate mails if possible. Was wondering why i didn't hear from you.. (-: Mind you, we'd like to release BPB as a XMas present so any major rework will not be possible at this time.Hope to hear from you soon.Jan

Hi Jan,I have tried to send the mail both with and without attachments, but I keep getting this error message: ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- (reason: 551 Mail from your IP is currently blocked based on RBL listing) ----- Transcript of session follows -----... while talking to smtp.chello.nl.:>>> DATA<<< 551 Mail from your IP is currently blocked based on RBL listing550 5.1.1 ... I can fully understand that there isn't time to make major adjustments, but I would like you to consider the registration letters under the left wing which seem to have been forgotten:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/100809.jpgBest regardsKim

Hi Jan!Well, I do have one more issue that I find a bit unrealistic and not quite photoreal. I don't know if I should really write this because I actually don't like to criticise your work after all the time you have put into it. But here it comes:I don't understand why you have made the under side of the rear fuselage so dark that it almost looks black when seen from below at a certain angle. It makes the plane look a bit rusty and dirty which is not the way the real bird looks (and I hope that Thorbj

Hi Kim,>I don't understand why you have made the under side of the>rear fuselage so dark that it almost looks black when seen>from below at a certain angle. You *will* understand when you do your first photoreal texturing,Kim. Lighting i.e. shadow is conducted by the photo's you'll use. While that can be adapted slightly you're stuck with lighting/shadow that existed at the particular time and weather condition when the photo's were shot.> It makes the plane look a bit>rusty and dirty which is not the way the real bird looks (and>I hope that Thorbj

Hi Jan!I fully understand your arguments about the pro's and con's of using real photos for the textures. And I have no doubt that you have been very faithful to the photos which Mathias sent you. I am just trying to say that there is a risk of ending up with a set of textures which only looks REALLY 'real' when the plane stands on the ground.Since all our flightsim work is about manipulating and compromising anyway, I just suggest that one could make the shadows a bit less dark, so the textures would blend better with all weather and lighting conditions. This picture shows how I intend to make my repaint of OY-BPB' sister, and I admit that this is just about 100% non-photorealistic:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/101047.jpgThere is still a lot of work to be done on this one, and it is actually meant to work with the Tico Belle model. And I think we should just end this discussion here, if nobody else has anything to say about this subject...Best regardsKim

Thank you VERY much!!!I just wish every one would stop using those installers. They make installation so difficult...But the repaint is great!!http://www.kotiposti.net/syrjamaki/maambanner.jpg

Hi Kiki,Sorry about the installer, but it is the only way we can make these free upgrades without giving away the store. Both the XC-47C and OY-BPB are essentially complete aircraft, minus the panels, gauges and sounds. Without the security check in the installer, the cheapskates would take our plane, alias another panel and sounds into it, and then where would we be? We like to be generous to the FS community, but not THAT generous! It's more important to us to be generous with the museum.BTW, I got a note today from Russ Strine, MAAM's President, which said, "R4D flies in

What you say is 100 % true.I have FS in E:/Flight Simulator not in the default location. I was little frustrated after searching from every corner of my house for the original CD... Maybe now I can finally keep them in order.Thank you for the great christmas present!kikihttp://www.kotiposti.net/syrjamaki/maambanner.jpg

I can NOT install that bpb_fs9.zip file at all. This is even though I have installed the new R4D and the XC-47C. I'm not asking for MAAM-SIM to change their ways, I'd just like to be able to install. Now back to your regularly scheduled thread. :D

Installer or no installer, BPB is a great aircraft and thank you for making my Christmas brighter for two years in a row.If it helps with the "dark tail" thing, my experience with FS9 is that shadows tend to be overdone in the sim. I think it's because FS9 models shadows correctly, but under-models bounce lighting (that's a movie term for light reflected off of surrounding surfaces). I've noticed it mostly while in the VC mode; there are some aircraft that get so dark in the afternoon or morning with angled sunlight that I've had to turn on the cabin lights to see everything. It's a subtle thing and took me awhile to notice it.Ken G.San Diego
