2 cargo repaint requests

Recommended Posts

Hi AlexAll in good time, perhaps!I did paint up 4-Star using Jan Visser's old FS2000 model which I upgraded for FS2002 ... it really flies quite nicely in FS2004 if you can live without props. Find it in my FS2002 repaints at http://www.swiremariners.com/dc3FS8.htmlHaving said that, the latest R4D-6/DC-3A package is without parallel and I'm sure you won't regret your investment.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

Hi Alex, today I've create a repaint of the Tol-Air Services DC-3:DC-3_2.jpgDC-3_1.jpgWith Mark Beaumont's great DC-3 Repaint Templates it was not much work (Thank you Mark :)).The MAAM-Sim DC-3 is the best airplane you can buy for the FS2004.I'll upload the repaint at Avsim in a few hours.GreetingsTim

Thank you very much!Just one question, would it be possible to blend in the windows more like on the picture? They appear to be the same color as the blue stripe and are not see-through.Unless the model doesn't allow it, then nevermind!

Tim is right on this one. On the latest, GMAX model, it is not possible to 'texture out' the windows, or move them about, as used to be possible with the older FS2000/FS2002 versions. Why? Simple. Reflections. The modeller has the choice of either having reflectivity or transparency, but not both. In the old format, there was only the latter option, so we used to paint on the reflections, if you remember; now, clearly, it would be daft not to take advantage of reflectivity in FS9.So to change windows, we have to change the model. There will be a seven window cargo model released in due course (the present one has eight each side, a la Pionair) but as every cargo aircraft in the world has done different things to its windows, it's not really possible to produce endless models for these variants. So now you know! Hope this helps to clarify things a little,MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]
