I am ready to replace my monitor with one of the newer LCD wide jobs.Am curious as to how the planes will look. Will they be stretchedand maybe skinny or will they look pretty much normal? Does anyone have thoughts or info about this? I now have a 19" crt and would like to replace with at least a 19' LCD. Thanks, Ed Workman

HI ED: I have a Samsung 213T..21.3 inch Digital TFT monitor. I LIKE it! Had it for over a year. They are a lot cheaper now than when I bought mine. I would do it again "In a Heartbeat" I had a 17" Dell Ultra-Sharp (Digital-TFT) before this one. It was nice...but bigger never hurts. "Wide Screen" is tempting. From what I've seen posted on the various Flight-Sim Forums.."Wide Screen" may Stretch your panel in VC. Some people dont't have a problem with this.. some do. I'm not ready to step up to wide screen. Money is not the factor with me. SPOFF

Ed, personally I'd stick to the regular screen format. Less problems. You're not watching movies in FS. I've just bought a humdinger of a 19" from www.newegg.com, incidentally. Thanks for the LCD monitor info. I am close to a decision but am concerned about one I was interested in, a 19" dell, however, in the ad it had the notation, "analog only." I don't understand what they were refering to. I thought we were dealing with digital only.Thanks very much for your help. My expertise was with vacuum tubes and transistors as a radio operator in B-29's and C-47's so I'm not too knowledgable in this field.Ed Workman

ED: The DELL LCD monitors come in TWO different flavors. The flat panel Analog Models; cheaper; and the flat panel Digital (DVI)Models. The DELL digital models are referred to as "Ultra Sharp". Ultra Sharp monitors have two plugs on the back so that if your video card does not have a Digital (DVI) output you can still use the digital monitor although you won't be sending a digital signal to the monitor. The "Ultra Sharp" models come with a Digital cable, and an Analog cable. Only one of the two cables will be used. Higher end video cards have an anolog plug as well as a DVI plug. The digital cable usually has a WHITE connector and the Analog cable connectors are BLUE. SPOFF
