Dark Moment

It's no yoke!

Recommended Posts

For those who find themselves using virtual cockpit mode more and more but are frustrated by the difficulty of seeing the critical nav instruments behind the yoke, we've put together a little 'fix' at your request. We have now uploaded replacement VC textures for your individual aircraft (i.e. allowing you to configure only those aircraft that you wish to) that remove the yokes from the VC. All else remains, including the virtual cabin. You can use this modification with any of the MAAM-SIM R4D-6/DC-3A/C-47/XC-47C aircraft. Please note that this little 'fix' is not quite the same thing as the 'medium' version yoke removal option that was released with the original package and which, owing to apparent lack of interest, has been discontinued since. The yokes remain with this fix, you just can't see them. So there is no saving in FPS, sorry! But now at least you can work out where you are going! http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/153619.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/153620.jpgMAAM-SIM may formally introduce this removal feature again in future iterations, given the increasing functionality of the VC and the fact that it is now, as a consequence, becoming more immersive. We hope that this mod pleases some, in any case. All part of MAAM-SIM's ongoing commitment to supporters, and our best effort at responding to your desires!Mark P.S. The first man who says "But I only wanted you to remove MY yoke, not the one on the other side" may be invited to take a long walk on a short pier :) The MAAM-SIM ships are designed to be flown from either seat, both in 2D and VC modes, and there's a limit to how many options it makes sense to offer.

A number of things have prevented me doing further work on her over the past few months, Tim. But she is now top of the priority list, as I'd like to get her out before FSX arrives! She's about eight paints done, with seven to go pending a model variation we are still working on. She'll have a couple of modified panels to play with ... the GPS is in the bin ... and hundreds of flight plans from her career. We're up to about 250 so far.I had originally hoped to release her all as one package, but am now thinking that I'll let her out of the hangar in a couple of stages. One, because she'll be a continually evolving work anyway, when the new sim arrives, and two because if I don't she'll just take forever. Here's one paint:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/153627.jpgMarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

Mark, Just to add another voice of thanks for this alteration. The MAAM-SIM remains one of the very best things in the FS-world. Great stuff.Best,Mike
