September 11, 200718 yr I'm madly in love with the MAAM DC3 in FSX. I just can't stop flying it. One small thing I'm trying to figure out is how to fix the turns in the AP. When you click the turns it doesn't in increments of 10 rather than degree by degree. Is there a way to adjust that? Is there some cfg setting I can tweak? It's fine in FS9.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
September 11, 200718 yr Hi LeeAre you sure it's fine in FS9? It's a documented problem that our trusty Sperry only accepts 10' increments, given that it was originally designed for FS2002. The trick with FS9 was to use the mouse wheel for more delicate adjustments... does this not work for you in FSX?I shall have to go and test this myself again tonight, clearly; but as one who does not try to adjust course by fiddling with the AP (correct procedure being to turn it off, correct, and then turn it on again) I can see I shall have to swallow my pride ;)MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cx.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/avsimlogo.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
September 12, 200718 yr Author Good point Mark. Yes I know you should turn it off and then turn it back on after the turn. Actually I've made a private version of your Bendix panel for myself with the payware gauges for FSX by Friendly Panels. However, due to copyright I can't post it anywhere. I split my DC3s in half. There's the older versions like the WW2 ones that have the original AP and the newer ones that are equipped with my secret Bendix, thanks to your inspiration, panel.I was thinking about contacting you but I first wanted to test the panel a bit with some actual flights. So far so good. I hope you are not upset by my imitating your work. I don't intend to sell it or post it anywhere. I was just doing it for fun. It works really well in FSX with this set up and I think I can improve on it a bit more. At the moment I'm using your HSI. I'd love to find one that blends in with the panel a little more, a little older looking.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177889.jpgWhat do you think?Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
September 12, 200718 yr :)There's no copyright issue, Lee, if you TELL people what to do or what you have done, as opposed to uploading stuff. So if you have found a magic combination of gauges for FSX, good for you; share the knowledge, but not the files! As for the HSI, I confess that I have not spent enough time playing with FSX as yet to find out what's out there. I would guess that a more appropriate HSI is hiding in the wings somewhere. I'll keep my own eyes open... but I do recall that the choice of that particular gauge for FS9 was because of how it synergised with the rest of the panel's gauges i.e. similar backlighting, etc. The default FS9 HSI of that type did not. If I recall (being too lazy to look it all up) it came - with express permission - from Milton Shupe's magnificent Howard. September 12, 200718 yr Author Mark, you've given me an idea. Maybe after I get the panel tweaked completely I'll try to get permission from Friendly Panels, from MAAM and from yourself and try to upload a configuration only file that would provide the information on how to convert the panel into the FSX version of the bendix panel.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
