Ricky, as regards to your first question. YOu may notice that some of the installation instructions that come with the 3rd party scenery specifically mention to make sure the "use this scenery directly" option is chosen. I believe the rationale is that the scenery will load up much faster.I presume you have a full install of FS2K2 (and don't need to insert the CD disk in order to run the sim). From what I understand (and I'm no expert here) the cache is for storage of scenery off the CD to improve preformance when you have less than a full install of the program.Someone else will probably come along with a more clear cut response for you. But the the above might help.-Lindy :-wave

Some scenery I've installed for FS2002 has been much easier than instructions for FS2K. Usually just a matter of copying the "bgl." file/files into ------- C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFS2002ADDON SCENERYScenery. Then you can make comparisons when running the sim, just by unchecking the "addon scenery" box in the scenery library. Some instructions for FS2K addon scenery seemed a complete mess. You just scrap all that, and use the above. Other add-ons such as payware will have self installs, and some add-ons will have slightly more complicated instructions, but I've never ran into what you're talking about.L.Adamson

Ricky, I've just asked this question on the Lago site and their expert said that the cache was a legacy of FS5.1, which is about 8 years old, when computers were very slow, so go with the "use directly".Lago make mesh scenery and addons.Baz
