Dave, I believe the OP wanted to discuss the new Space Shuttle Mission simulator. This forum is titled Orbiter and space simulators and I believe SSM2007 does qualify as a space simulation. As far as SSM2007 goes it seems to be a very good recreation of all phases of the shuttle program. The virtual cockpit is done very well including being able to see your copilot, but you have to open 2D screens to actuate switches and other controls. Ten missions are modeled. I am still working on mastering reentry and landing and have yet to try out any of the EVA missions or dock at the ISS. I expect to spend a lot of time mastering this simulation. I am very happy with its' performance on my mid stream Athlon XP3600 PC. I have pretty much taken an hiatus from FSX, due to performance isues, and have had a great time with this sim. Happy orbiting whatever your space sim of choice is.

bt,I thought I should check this out after I saw the Avsim review. I'll simply say that I am extremely impressed. I've been spending so much time with it that my other sim time has suffered a little, my wife is wondering, and I'm not getting enough sleep!I'm also very impressed with the support of and constant updating/improvement of Exciting Simulations - all at no extra charge. One of the things that attracted me to it originally was its similarity to the Fly! series - it seemed to have that type of realism and system integration. The staff of ES is right on hand in the same manner that Richard Harvey used to be available to Fly! users.

I love Space Shuttle Mission 2007,But have been unable to start the de-orbit burn, and reentry using the on screen instructions,as they are out of sequence,or incorrect. I will have to print out the checklist cards from Mike Swannick http://www.space-shuttle-mission.com/downloads.html ,and hope they work. I have been able to land,Using a tutorial I found on U-Tube. It Is quite the learning curve! The graphics are beautiful,I wish there was a fully automatic mission,so I could just sit back as an observer. There are a lot of panels to learn. :(

BigSky,I have completed the first six shuttle missions in SSM2007, and the only problem I have had with deorbit was that stowing the RMS arm took so long in STS-27 Atlantis that I missed the deorbit window! I solved this by moving the RMS close to its stow position before starting the deorbit procedure.

I decided not to buy it, I tried the demo and really didn't like the pausing while I was supposed to do stuff, combined with no guidance at all during the tutorials to where the switches were.
