November 9, 200421 yr ...I would like to run a Dual Monitor setup. I have no idea how to go about this, could someone point me in the right direction, please? My Graphics Card is a Nvidia G4 Ti4200 which does suport what it calls nView; but only has a connector for one monitor. Looks like I will need another Graphics Card? There is a problem here as well :) I only have 1 AGP Slot on my Dell 8100 PC; but do have 2 PCI Slots spare. I have no idea what happens beyond this point.Any help would be very much appreciated.Ken,Somerset, Englandwizard01
November 9, 200421 yr Hi Par,Do you mean that I can connect my CRT to my Graphic Card by using the DVI/VGA Adaptor that came with my Graphic Card? If so I'm 90% there right Now :)Kenwizard01
November 9, 200421 yr Yes. So you got two VGA connections? Well most new ones got them so.Yes that would solve it. I think it
November 10, 200421 yr I have 1 'oldish' CRT Monitor and 1 'very' new TFT Monitor. All I have to do now is plug the DVI/VGA adaptor into my video card and switch on the power switch.......it's now 10 minutes past midnight here in the UK, so I think I'll say goodnight and thank you for your help; later today :) I'll give you and update on my progress.Kenwizard01
November 10, 200421 yr Situation so far - I have both monitors running, however, I've not yet found out how to arrange for my no.2 monitor to show a different window to the Primary; at the moment I am running in Clone mode which is a novelty but not what I'm looking for. I have the Nvidia (Gainward) Manual in front of me but cannot find anything about separate displays. The next section in the Manual goes on about connecting a TV.So I'm 'stuck' at the moment. My intention was to use the Primary monitor for fs9 and use the No 2 monitor to disply the GS Navigator Map as I fly.Kenwizard01
November 11, 200421 yr All you need to do is run The NVidia Desktop display manager ( should be in the Control Panel). For the Monitor setup select Custom and choose independant displays (This is from memory - the wording may be a little different). Then just set each monior to whatever resolution etc you wish, select the positions ( normal is No 1 on the right - 2 on the left). and that should be it.You'll find - quite apart from FS - it's immensly useful having the second monior for all sorts of other thingsDave
