December 16, 200421 yr Paul, it seems to be related to my choice of 2X AA... it is not a big deal, but it was fixed in the 6x.xx series of drivers. For now, I'm pretty happy with having smooth frame rates, so I think I'll stay with these drivers for a while and thank you for the tip! Bert
December 16, 200421 yr HelloWhat do you guys exactly mean by this?QuoteIf you have winXP-sp2, de-install the Via4in1 package and re-install it again (latest one is v.4.53 AFAIK), minus the AGP-bit.Are you running XP service pack 2? I'll second the prior advice about making sure you don't have VIA installed for AGP in XP service pack 2.UnquoteThe "minus AGP-bit" part I do not understand. What has to be done exactly? Thanks Walter
December 16, 200421 yr Walter,I would disregard this advice about the AGP.First, some (myslef included) could not get the Microsoft's SP2's AGP to get to work - probaby I am doing something wrong but I am yet to see a detailed enough procedure how *not* to install the VIA's AGP. Second, even those how succeded in getting it work claim they actually see degradation in performance once they switched to SP2's AGP. It is enough to go to the VIA's forums and read about it. December 17, 200421 yr Thanks for all the tricks guys...I have Windows 2000, so all the XP idea won't help.I don't have a SATA hard drive. Will updating to one of those equal smoother performance? Also, tell me more about V-sync and FastWrites. When I install the Omega drivers, there is an optiong for AMD 64 systems, but I have never tried it.Thanks
