December 30, 200421 yr Right now, I have a good 400 hundred watt power supply. I forgot the brand name but it is an AMD approved one. I also currently use it in a Athlon XP system. I am thinking about upgrading to an FX 55 with a new motherboard. Will a 400 watt power supply be enough to run both with? Any other recommendations with power supplies and larger Athlon CPUs will be helpful. I might wait until the 90mm versions are released early in 2005. Do the 90mm require less power from a power supply? How does all of that work?I am tired of the poor frames and I want frame per second to spare!! Thanks in advance.RH
December 30, 200421 yr The 90nm CPUs are already out. Bought one last month, a 3500+. Really nice CPU, the Athlon64. Runs very cool, doesn't draw all that much power. Your 400W PSU should be fine. Most retailers who carry the 90nm flavour advertise them. The actual retail box looks identical to the old 130nm one so if you buy the CPU at a local shop you may want to ask to make sure you get a 90nn CPU. -
December 30, 200421 yr Author The 3500+ is the fastest processor currently available at the 90mm core. However, thanks for the info.RH
