DDHelper.exe

Recommended Posts

I use EndItAll to prepare my system for FS. There is a process running called DDHelper.exe. Should I kill this process also or keep it running? Seems that since DirectX is used by FS, it should be kept running. Thanks,Dave Hinson

I'm running XP Pro, I don't have a ddhelper.exe running. It probably is a service, if you don't use it it would be better to disable.

I think you mean DDHelp.exe vice DDHelper.exe. It is located in the WindowsSystem folder in Win98 but is not part of the WinXP DirectX install. You can try killing the file, if your computer locks up then remove it from the Enditall list after the reboot. Make sure you are not having Enditall kill stuff without your okay.

Yes, indeed, it is DDHelp. Don't know where it came from, but I will try your suggestions. Thanks both.Dave Hinson
