June 16, 200520 yr I am considering getting a 74GB Raptor to enhance my system. I am seeking some advice on how to best set up my system with the new drive. I currently have ATA 7200 RPM drives of 160GB and 120GB. The Raptor will supplement these 2 existing drives. I am seeking to maximize my FS9 performance, especially with photographic scenery such as MegaScenery. My questions involve how I should allocate the resources amongst these 3 drives? For example, should my XP Home system be on one drive and fs9 on another, and if so, which drive should get the XP system, which should get the MegaScenery, etc.Should the MegaScenery go on the Raptor - which will obviously be the fastest drive - and if so, should the XP System go on this drive or on one of the other drives? And where should FS9 go?Should I create a dual boot machine and use one system for FS9 exclusively and the other for my non-sim programs? And if so, which drive should get the dedicated FS9 XP system and how should FS9 and the MegaScenery be allocated amongst the drives?I hope this gives you an idea of the nature of my inquiries. Thanks for any input you can provide.Robert Robert Chartoff

June 19, 200520 yr well i am not a speed guru, but i'll try and give you some advice; clearly a drive of only 74gig will not be big enough to hold all your flight sim files (i jest not, my install spread over 2 drives is about that size now and still growing), so i sugest you move all your scenery files to this drive, this should also help with slightly quicker loading (only slightly due to the increased speed of accessing files).
