I see Creative are now shipping the x-fi sound card.Has anyone got hold of one?I have a couple of questions... does it noticably improve sound quality in FS? Does it help frame rates? and How is it for mp3 playback outside FS?Paul

I doubt that you'll see any increase in frame rates by changing your soundcard. The only time you'll notice any better performance is from switching from on-board sound chip with little or no buffer to a dedicated soundcard. The soundcard industry wants us to believe that every new technology is worth a few hundred bucks. Do you notice any improved sound quality of 16-bit sound compared to 24-bits? I don't.
