Joystick suddenly dead

Recommended Posts

Guest

After long use with no problems, I have suddenly had my joystick (MS FFB Pro)go dead in CFS2. It appears fine in all the obvious checks in settings, and it still works fine in FS2002.Is this something simple and obvious I can fix. Needless to say, I am desperate not being able to fly! Thanks to anyone for helpI posted this also on the combat flight sim boards, but thought it might be a more general issue that some expert here might be familiar with.Ojisan Tuck

First thing I'd check is that the joystick is enabled in CFS2. If it works in the calibration settings box, thats the most likely explanation. Failing that, try it with another sim or better still, on another machine. My experience with Microsoft hardware - I've owned three MS sticks and several mouses (mice?) is that it is precision engineered to perform flawlessly until exactly 5 minutes past the warranty period, when it fails completely.I use CH Pro controllers and a Logitech wireless trackball these days. I'd never touch another Microsoft hardware product.LonelyplanetXO
