Dual-Monitor Questions

Featured Replies

I took the plunge and got a second monitor for my FS rig over the holidays and I had no problem setting everything up. I am using an nVidia card with the nVidia desktop manager. However, I do have a few questions: I was hoping to view add-on programs, like FS Flight Keeper, ASV, etc on the second monitor, maybe even browse the web during medium-haul flights, but FS9 automatically minimizes when I try to do something on the second monitor and there doesn't seem to be an option to disable this "task switch". Is there any way to prevent this? Also, is it even possible to have a spot or top-down view on the 2nd monitor? It is easy to display throttle or radio stack in the other monitor by simply dragging it to the other monitor, but I have yet to figure it out for anything else.Thank you ;-)Pat

Pat - I have two monitors set up on an nVidia card also and don't have the minimize problem. BTW, I don't use nView - I just let XP handle the monitors. In the FS options, do you have "Pause on Task Switch" UNchecked?Personally haven't tried docking a top down view BUT I seem to recall that there IS a way to do it that someone posted a while ago. You might try a search for it. ( I'm assuming that right click and undock do NOT work for you).HTH,VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpghttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
